I don't see why not.

The Mouse sits on alot of cash.

when you start seeing returns like Marvel movies are making and if you don't see the need to insure yourself by bringing in outside parties, that pile of cash you're sitting on starts to get a lot cushier.....fast.....

Walt Disney would have a smile on his face the size of the Amazon river.

It could have been different had Kevin Feige not take a stand against marvel CEO Perlmutter as Perlmutter wanted to scale down civil war , possibly taking out all the extra players like ant-man etc and change the story.
Kevin feige threaten to quit and Disney CEO step in , now Feige report directly to the disney CEO and yeah , they bankrolls the marvel movie.

What's the OW looking like domestically? Still floating around 200M?

I think CW will make it crystal clear that Feige is Disney's golden goose if it wasn't incredibly obvious already.

Only Feige could engineer a Captain America movie that could outgross The Avengers WW. :woot:

Never predicted it'd be quite this huge. I'm pleasantly surprised.

That was a very great move by feige and disney CEO. I hope they would get rid of perlmutter and appointed feige as the head of entire marvel entertainment

Can you imagine? "One Cola for the press" Perlmutter could have saved some money is he didn't have to pay RDJ. Who can argue with THAT "logic"? Too bad he owns so much stock.

Captain America Civil War is Fandango's #1 top pre-selling superhero movie of all time:

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Capt...tered-Fandango-Record-Get-Details-128667.html

Fandango has announced that Captain America: Civil War has become the site’s #1 pre-selling superhero movie of all time.

The online ticket service reported that the third Captain America installment accounted for more than 90% of its weekend ticket sales, earning it a 100/100 points on Fandango’s Fanticipation movie buzz indicator. By shattering this record, it surpassed movies like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Avengers: Age of Ultron and The Avengers. Fandango also included some statistics from a survey of 1,000 Captain America: Civil War fans, like how 87% were “intrigued” by Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 85% were excited to see Chadwick Boseman play Black Panther and 48% wanted Black Widow to get her own movie.

Holy smokes. I hope this movie crosses $200 mil OW DOM.

I had Ultron going lower than Avengers. Low reviews, plus it was been there done that.

Civil War is a completely new dynamic. Spidey in there as well. Heroes vs heroes. Will do 550-600 domestic and 1 billion foreign at minimum. I'm going with 1.7.

1.7B would be nuts, that would almost double that of BvS, a tight slap on the faces of those who trolled Cap when date announced for both clashed a year ago

My final personal prediction (and I admit a little optimistic)

OW: 216M
Total DOM: 660M
Total WW: 1.68B

My final prediction:

$219.67M DOW
Final USA haul: $659M
Final OS haul: $1.016B
--------------------------
Final global total: $1.675B WW

If the 45m opening day in China is accurate, then going by Furious 7's opening day and final gross, CW will make close to 260m in China alone (F7 OD was 68M and final gross 390M)

If it does 1.5B, it will be an underperformer and a box office disappointment....just like AoU.

Ditto if it doesn't make more than 200M OW.

:o:o:o

If Civil War makes 1.6 billion, anyone still claiming that WB are happy with BvS making 870 million will need a mental health evaluation.

They are going to have to start filming parts of these movies in well known Chinese areas. Let's call it "product placement". :woot:

I maintain my initial prediction of $1.3-1.4 Billion, it would be awesome if it becomes the highest grossing MCU film though and even better if makes more money than Jurassic World.

We're going to find out very, very soon. If this weekend hits 200M (or anywhere close), I think your prediction will end up being low. If it goes over as well as I think it will, I see about a 50% drop during the 2nd weekend. That will put it in the 600M, plus or minus, range DOM when all is said and done. OS numbers look to be around 1B; plus or minus.

Will WB execs be as enthusiastic about their under 900 million dollar gross when CA: CW comes close to doubling that number?

This is going to be the event movie of the year, my entire office of 30 people are doing a "Team building" exercise at the movie theater on Friday, and the buzz online is only increasing....

I want it to beat 208.8M OW to be #2. There's no way it's beating The Force Awakens, but the #2 spot shall be OURS!
