I wonder if her powers are somehow based upon what the person she's being attacked by (in this case, a verbal attack), is thinking..or what she's thinking, cause the guy said something about her being an "ice queen", and then "viola", she produces ice and freezes the guy.......

And i hope The Haitan is in this season.

Hmm What to think of the episode?
It was intresting for sure. Myra needs to do more than just freakin whine though. I'm still not seeing why they added her. Mohinder, that stupid doc what's up Doc? As Bugs Bunny used to say blah. I'm really liking Peters/Noah's/Elles storylines.

I don't get why people say see was just whining the whole time. SHE WAS FREAKIN' RIGHT! Mohinder's just too dumb to realize it.

Once again he has to study things to know how they work. You don't give a guy that has never put together a car and just give him all the car parts and expect him to build a car. Same goes for Sylar. He has to study something to know what do with it or where it fits. Everytime you see Sylar is about to kill someone you hear a clock ticking...he is associating clocks with powers and what piece goes where to make it work for him. That is his power.

I understand now how his powers work. He is like Peter, he also has an ability to "randomly re-format his brain" which is how he is able to obtain all those special abilities.
But the reason he cuts opens the brains is for it to serve as a sort of guideline of how to activate that part of the brain. Re-formatting his brain should be independent of having to see how a particular power works. I'd assume he can re-format his brain upon his will without actually looking at another individuals brain, however the chances of getting a particularily desired power would be very slim.

And as Savage said, activating random parts of his brain could be dangerous (never thought of it that way, so thanks Savage ) and he could activate powers that are extremely undesirable and trigger some mental and physical illnesses as well. So opening someone's brain is the best way to go.

Here's how I explained my theory back in March last year.

Yes, that is really he only way his power make sense...but as I said he also can activate dormant parts of the brain.

Sylar also has the head cut open power. Even after all his other powers were taken away last season that is the one power that he retained. We definitely need a Sylar backstory. Peter's brain is the one who Sylar should definitely be studying, he can take on mulitiple abilities & eventually seems to retain them. If Peter & Sylar are supposed to be twins then their powers are completely opposite but still very similar to each other. Peter's only main power is that he is able to take on different powers but Sylar is also able to take on different powers also but Peter doesn't have to go to all the extremes to get his powers the same way Sylar does. Peter is the key to everything Sylar has been searching for.

I always though the "head cut open power" was basically telekinisis (sp?) and when he opened Cassandra's brain he did it by brute force via random objects in the room, like a knife or something.

However we DO need to have another Sylar episode that explains a few more things. ANd I have no idea why he isn't after Peter!?
He has been stalking Claire and trying to find her but Peter is the all in one...so what the hell!?
And its not like he doesn't know his powers, he saw him heal, go invisable, emit radiation...so there is obviously something special about Peter and yes it would've been better if he went after Peter and just got his powers...then the tedious obstacle of having to hunt people down wouldn't be so much of a problem.

But, heh, I guess if he did that the show wouldn't be so suspensful...nevermind the logic behind it

Yes, dat right!!...de very next dai (I wuld also like to remind yuu I am de same girl that tried to be a nun a few months back and suddenly I am having sex with someone I just met!)
...It was a grwet way of honoring my bruther and proves that my brothur's death greatly effected me!
...Guud-bye!

ROFL. I couldn't agree more. My sister and I were confused about her just totally ignoring the fact that her brother died.
I really hope they develop her more. The only thing she's done (although it hasn't been too many episodes she's appeared in) is make out with Sylar in front of her dead brother and got some sweet lovin' from Mohinder. Then again, she's always been a little naive from the get-go, so you can't really expect too much.

Maya was very justified in her anger towards Mohinder. She came all the way from the Dominican Republic to seek his help in finding a cure for her. He was too selfish and naive to let go of the fact that he was just a normal person and that him getting powers was only for his own selfish gain and it will (it has already) backfire in his face.

Maya will, hopefully, have the last laugh this time.
