Chapter 41 - “Eris Quod Sum” – Discussion Thread 10/27/08

Pretty obvious to me Sylar is just faking his father out. He threw Peter out the window to save him...Syler plans to keep in good with his father in order to find out his plan and stop him.

Best season yet :)

I wouldn't say best season yet...... its a damn good one SO FAR. 1st season is still #1 in my book.... but if this season keeps goin the way it is than yea it will be the best yet.

finally here someone agrees with me! Everyone else is all like "Wah Wah Wah Mohinduh is stupd Wah They ruined all of Sylars previous stories cuz the hunger Wah" Who gives a **** its a tv show its really entertaining and has kool characters with cool powers and cool storylines you dont have to get so analytical and read to much into it. Ive found that if you just watch and take everything at face value its alot better than reading to deep into it. Its like life man just enjoy the ride

............you've just taken everything I believe in and put it into actual words.

HALLELUJIAH. The truth has been spoken.

OK so how did Matt know that his father died, yet couldn't read the fact that he was being hoodwinked? Doesn't make sense.

Easiest answer to that is he's so enamored with Daphne and their future, he sees what he wants to see in her.

That's fine for you, but there's nothing wrong with setting standards for the tv shows you watch. I'm sure lots of people are happy with whatever crap they're shown.

He could, he just didn't. He's a goody2shoes, so he'll probably won't read someone's mind unless he really needs to. You what i find strange? Maury has the same power as Matt. They can make people do whatever they want. And Maury is a lot more amoral than Matt. Why would Maury try to persuade Nathan and Daphne with a vision of Linderman when he can just make them do whatever he wants? Why would he even work for Arthur? He can control Arthur too.

^ I'm sure Arthur would be able to persuade Matt some way or another. I mean, if he got Maury able to work for him, obviously he would be able to get Matt to work for him as well.

It would make more sense if Maury played Arthur with a vision of him dieing. I just don't see the guy being killed off so eazy.

I'm pretty sure he's as dead as a doornail. Arthur also seems to have some kind of telepathy. He was communicating with Kinsei/Adam before he stole his power.

He could likely resist Maury's telepathy... or at least know when Maury is trying to use it on him.

Just caught the episode. Don't think I'm diggin where the shows going but oh well.

- what the hell possessed Claire and Elle to get on a PLANE with Elle in her condition?

- why is it that everytime a bad guy who normally kicks ass becomes a good guy, he gets beat up easily and frequently? Sylar got owned by Peter and his dad in less than 2 episodes. He was destroying people in season 1

- they really need to get Nathan more involved w/ his mom and dad. He's so distant.

- Mohinder, please die.

And sooo much for the Nightmare Man :whatever:....personally I don't care that maury died but why hype him up to be "even worse than Sylar" when he was really just a lame charecter who stole the spotlight for like 1 episode :down

Agreed

Oh my god, you're right. Quality of writing doesn't matter! All that matters is flashy powers and things blowing up! How did I not see it before? :whatever:

I think it was good for peter to own Sylar, considering Peter essentially got owned in every other battle he's had with Sylar. The difference is, this time Sylar was trying to help, and get Peter to cooperate with him, so he was probably going a bit easier on ol Petey. Peter was just pissed and steamrolled through him though.

Your other points are pretty good, though.

I forgot about about Mohinder beating the crap out of Sylar too. I think he's had enough ass-whoopings until he's a bad guy again lol.

Sylars had his ass whooped more as a good guy, than as a bad guy. Huh.

I think the quality of writing is great in this season. I love the story centering around Peter's family.

Does it say anywhere in my post that writing doesnt matter? I agree that the show has taken some bad turns in terms of storytelling. I remember when season one ended even though i was excited for a new season i still thought to myself "Hm I bet this will be this shows only great season." It seemed pretty obvious to me that the show had been soo great in the first season that there was no other direction than down, in terms of quality of course. My point is that since i kept my expectations realistic that Im just not to disappointed in the past 2 seasons cuz i seen it coming.
