The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger (Spoiler Discussion)

We’re getting really good Luke fan-service here. He’s one of my all-time favourite heroes so it’s amazing to see.

In a time where Lucas gave us a PT... jump ahead to Carrie having passed away... and then the ST wasn't the best overall.

I'll dine-out on whatever de-aged Luke they can give us.

Loved it. Luke CGI is so much better when you put time into it. On par with Egon for me as the best I've seen so far.

Omg at the amount of cameos in this episode. I thought they couldn't go harder on the fanservice after the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, but this was even crazier than that.

I have no idea what's going on with this show anymore, but hell I'm not complaining because I'm loving every minute of it, and I honestly think its some of the coolest worldbuilding yet.

I mean from Luke training Grogu, to Ahsoka Tano being there and that pretty badass introduction for Cad Bane all felt like the most Starwarsy **** ever, and I am here to eat it all up.

Sure, they are obviously setting up other Star Wars shows, but if this episode didn't get you excited about the possibilities of what to expect in the future than I don't know what will.

I just wish they didn't kill Timothy Olyphant's character off, but at least he had a great re-introduction at the beginning of the episode and hopefully now Boba can get his time to shine in the finale.
Yeah, Raylan ain't dead.

Me, when I see That Hat: OMG it's Cad ****ing Bane. :mrk:

Me, 2 seconds later:

Anyway, really enjoying this two-episode show about all SW characters whose names don't rhyme with Moba Pet.
That was legit my brother's reaction. He said, "why is he white". Killed me. :funny:

I just looked it up, Wookieepedia confirms that he was born one year after ROTJ so he'd be about 4 but he didn't start training with Luke until he was 10. So that solves that, but it's still odd that Luke wouldn't have found any other students in that five year gap.
This is 6-7 years post Jedi.

Alden will definitely return as Han in the Lando and Qi'ra series since they'll be taking place roughly around the same time period as Solo did, but as weird as it could be to see a de-aged Harrison Ford showing up, it'd be even more jarring to see Alden as a post-ROTJ Han in this. In this case, I'd rather the deepfake Ford option.

But also, Han dropping off Grogu would be laying the fan service on a little too thick. It would make more sense for Luke or Ahsoka to do it.

For that matter, how would they know where to find Din? And also, how did Din know where to find Grogu? Is information about Luke's Jedi academy location easy to procure or was it through Ahsoka? I assume they exchanged contact info after they met the first time so that could be how Din finds out if Grogu wants to go back with him.
Why would it be jarring? I also think it's a good from the perspective of Disney in the, "it's all connected".

The fan service isn't super thick already? Ahsoka has already left. Luke is a possibility, which would have some pay off with Boba and maybe him doing a bit of fighting. But my money's on Han and Ben. Especially as seeing the Falcon will pop.

Can we talk about how good Bane's intro was?

Like when we first got the look of the guy walking into town I was like "Who is that?" My mind immediately started thinking of some of those Aftermath characters. But then we cut to him again and you see the silhouette....and the hype begins to rise.

The Hat becomes clearer.

The duster.

The blue skin.

ANd before you knew it the gravely tones of Corey Burton were serenading us as we all hoped on board the Bane Train.

Was just missing his tooth pick.

IF Bane was the one who took down the Tuskens....boy oh boy are things going to be more personal than they already are between him and Boba.

THE HYPE TRAIN IS REAL.

Yes, significant improvement. Really feels like having a young Luke back. I hope he’s around to stay and play a big part in the Star Wars shows.

I find it very odd (and honestly a bit funny) that some people are pointing at the episode where Luke is building his temple / school from TLJ as proof that they are somehow retconning the sequels. References to the ST in these shows are more subtle than PT and OT, but there's been plenty to connect these shows to those movies as well. In the end, whether you like or dislike those movies I'd say improving on them and the bigger worldbuilding is only a good thing. I like how they've balanced it so far in these shows.

I dont think this is the same school that is shown in TLJ. The temple we see in TLJ was on a grassy plain.

These last 2 episodes of just been absolutely amazing. Ahsoka looks great and so does Cad I don’t get those complaints, but okay. Luke looked great again and everything with him and Grogu and the training and Ahsoka was perfection. Cad and his entrance was badass and they nailed it. Very excited for the finale.

Jessica Beals' character and Boba should have become friends or been on the path to friendship before she died.

Cad looks okay, if the wrong color and randomly terrifying. Ahsoka's makeup, contacts and headpiece are not Star Wars quality. You can see the creases in her hollow looking headpiece. Luke went from looking decent to down hill quick once they started showing him talk. I still enjoyed it all, but a lot of this is pretty low quality from a series known for it's amazing SFX.

To each their own then I guess, cause to my eyes they all look great.

This is pretty much where I'm at at the moment.

As much as I was annoyed with the flashbacks and how and when the used them, at least it was still Boba Fett in a Boba Fett show.

To be fair, the creature effects have not been great on the shows so far. Granted, there seems to have been some improvement, like with the trandoshans. But I think a main character Togruta is going to be really difficult to translate into live action.

De-aged Luke looked pretty much seamless IMO and dude if Disney wanted to do their own standalone series with that version, I could totally see it and honestly, I wouldn't even complain at this point.

I mean who doesn't want to see more of him and Grogu together training on that very awesome looking tropical, Japanese/Samurai looking inspired planet.

Sure, they are really laying it on thick with the nostalgia and member berries as many people like to say these days, but if we can get more of this kind of quality out of these shows than I'm all for it.

Also, I'd love to see more of that Western influence in these shows like the duel between Cobb Vanth and Cad Bane because I feel like a lot of that was missing in this show as well.
