One thought that occurred to me. If they're skewing so young with Thor in casting Hemsworth - who is only 25 - it looks like they'll be casting in the same age range for Loki. While they can just about get a pass on being able to match Thor's physical presence with someone in their mid 20s, will they be able to find someone in that age range who has the charisma of Loki?
The much rumored Josh Hartnett as Loki would still work.

Well, if it wasn't going to be Skars might as well be this guy, I guess, just think Skars based on what we have seen in True Blood actually has the pressence to become Thor, and has enough acting chops to not be overshadowed by guys like RD Jr......

But even Hartnett is in his early 30s, which might be too old to play opposite Hemsworth, seeing as Loki's supposed to be the same age or younger than Thor.

Nah, Harnett looks young, and this kid is big, and while he is a pretty boy, thats not what I would call a baby face

maybe we can get Russell Crowe for Odin and Guy Pierce for Loki now.

I don't think that Hartnett is a bad actor...I just felt that he was wrong for Superman. I don't know what Loki is all about so he may or may not be wrong the role for all I know. *shrugs*

Did Russell Crowe do Aussie soaps? I know Guy Pearce did a couple.

I just finished watching the youtube Hemsworth interview link from page 3. He looks so much better now than he did back then(when he was on the soap). I loved him in Star Trek. I was hoping that there would be random flashbacks to his character, but alas, no.

^ Including Hemsworth, Crowe and Pearce, Aussie soaps have produced some really good actors. Naomi Watts, Simon Baker, Heath Ledger, Melissa George, Isabel Lucas, Ryan Kwanten, etc. :)

He wasn't a regular, but he was in a couple of episodes of Neighbours. :)

Really? For some reason, this makes me laugh. If he started out in soaps, why is he so snobby when it comes to his movie roles? I remember when he was doing 3:10 to Yuma press, he said stuff like he would never do a comic book movie or something similar because he didn't want to wear a silly costume.

I can see this guy as Thor; plus i'm glad he's an unknown actor. If he nails this part-he'll forever be associated with the character, as Jackman is to Wolverine and Snipes is to Blade.

^ Not 'Home and Away' or 'Neighbours' (the 2 big ones), but Aussie tv, yes. Same with Hugh Jackman and Eric Bana was a standup who did a very successful sketch comedy show called 'Full Frontal'. :)

So, Jake, who is the next breakout Aussie star?

I really cant believe he was cast! I did a manip of him as thor bout a year and a half ago! wow I think someone on here actually suggested it

After Transformers and Daybreakers, maybe Isabel Lucas. I don't bloody know. :)
