Why are you guys so concerned about this arms or body not being big enough... they added CGI to add muscles both human and non-human blue muscles to Sam Worthington's crippled legs so he could play the part in Avatar... they could do the same here, add muscle to his arms through CGI if needed...
they didnt add muscles to sam human self in avatar. what cgi they did there was to make his lefs look weaker/skinner. Then of course all the great cgi work for the world/nav'vis. As for chris he doesnt need cgi to help him out. We already know he is in great shape and get really big.

Good idea - rather than go for the traditional, much cheaper, option of actually having the guy work out to build up his body - let's waste millions of $$$ on CG'ing muscles onto him instead.

Not even. Jake Sully's atrophied legs were actually a practical effect. Rubber molds were made from the legs of a person who was actually in a wheelchair. Sam's real legs were hidden away in different ways.

So this thread has turned into a crappy Sam Worthington Avatar rant.

Look both are weak and crap. Worthington can't act at all, Avatar was a lazy predictable film with nice shiny cgi that is it, it has not changed cinema for me, I wasted 3hours of my life on a crap movie.

Now back to Thor, Chris won't need cgi muscle he has always been a big guy and I'm sure he has bulked up alot since the last picture I saw of him on here, all he needs really is longer hair and maybe a beard. He is tall enough he has a deep voice that will add to the depth of Thor's words mostly when he shouts.

Can't wait for a proper teaser pick to come out, more excited for Thor than I am for Cap .. that looks like it maybe a mess as they are really dragging the casting out with some odd choices.

Thor casting has gone like clockwork compared to Cap!

Yeah it has. We had Thorsworth 9 months in advance. We're 4 months away from shooting Cap and they can't even get their goddamn main character down right.

9months to train, read the script/comics to get into the role, chat with Kenneth and Marvel polish thing .. oh and grow the hair out.

Cap will be a rush and at this point I'm worried for it, the casting is a joke.

The Thor thread's are a joy to come onto as well, unlike the Cap one which has been tedious to say the least for the past week.

heh wondering how the recent rumor of the Jonas Brothers trying out for Cap is being handled lol

echostation made a comment (possibly in jest) about CGI adding muscles to Sam's legs in Avatar, and I (and some others) commented on the validity of that claim.

That's discussion about CGI/practical effects augmenting/changing the physique of actors... there was no "ranting" about Avatar in here... until your post that is.

Longer than that I'd say. For him or opposed to him JohnK caused pandemonium that has been steady ever since.

Love the Thor forums when they are active. To be honest it seems like this project is a lot more stable and well planned than CAP.

I'm surprised that Hemsworth hasn't been seen in the past couple of months. Would that be a deliberate thing, saving him for the promos?

well union you got to remember thor's production date was pushed from last yr to this yr. compared to cap joe been on full time pre production work from nov and will be 8 months of prep prior to film going into production. Sure its nice when we have cast locked like a yr prior to filming. But there is still plently of time if casting is locked within the next few days-weeks for cap for actor to bulk up and other prep training.

His cast members on Red Dawn said he was getting HUGE...they thought every time he showed up on set, he looked a little bigger. This is all really good news.

I'm curious on what training regiment they have him on

When is the most recent photo we have available of Hemsworth?

these were from October on the set of Red Dawn

Wow, 5 months ago & he's already in reasonable shape! Got to be optimistic on this one!

Seeing those pictures, I can definitely picture Hemsworth with 10-15 lbs of extra muscle. I am thinking the guy is going to be jacked and will make for a very impressive Thor.

i think he has a great voice for Thor as well his voice is very powerful and deep
