For me its not terrible CGI but its not great either, its somewhere in the middle but probably not enough to take me out of the movie.
Because those visuals are what some people want. It's like a comic book ripped straight from the page. Some of us love that. Others don't. It's not that hard to understand that some people have a different taste.
My mistake. I guess I should do a better job of understanding people want fake looking CGI.
Sometimes directors go for practical effects, but producers come in and replace them with CG in post.

Yep, the director does have control over art style and its rendering. They have to sign off on it.Maybe not, but the CGI looks the same in nearly all of his movies.
I loved how Doomsday looked in the actual film even though I thought he looked weak in the trailers. Steppy looks alright, but hoping for better on the big screen.
Also, y'all know Snyder ain't the one choosing the VFX house right?
Really depressing. Those same FX artists had their work ruined in I Am Legend as well. Well they bowed out of that one, but they did some good early work on it and found out the studio wanted to do those crappy CGI vampires.Sometimes directors go for practical effects, but producers come in and replace them with CG in post.

those cgi effort are no where near the top notch, but to say they are 'terrible' or 'bad' ???
Haven't seen that Steppenwolf clip til now. The CGI could be a tad better, but I have a bigger issue with the character rigging/movement; it's too choppy/stiff.
