Do you honestly think that winning the Oscar for Makeup & Hair-styling affects that one way or the other? If anything, it makes it more of a joke.

It's not that we want the DCEU to die we want for them to get their stuff together so
they can actually compete head on with Marvel and not just be second string.
Good competition between both companies would get better creative juices flowing.
Better quality films etc. at they try to out do each other

Yeah, fair enough.

And despite how I feel about the film itself, I'm glad to see the people who really work on these films get credit. My late wife was a costumer, and most people don't realize the work that the BtS people do.

Even the Academy doesn't really take them seriously; there were only three nominees for Hair and Makeup, as opposed to a full slate of five for everything else.

To be fair though, Suicide Squad is a terrible movie. If it wasn't for Fan4stic existing, I would straight up call Suicide Squad the worst modern day comicbook movie.

It's shocking at how poorly made that movie was. And I was so excited for it.

But, imo, unlike Fan4stic, it actually can be fun and entertaining to watch plus the actors are great in their roles and save the movie (except for Letoker). Most of us agree, on an empirical level, the movie's a mess but the characters are very fun to be around and I'd like to see more of them unlike movies like, say, Fan4stic or Green Lantern where i never wanna see those actors reprise those roles again.

Its funny, my father is watching the Oscars right now and when SS won, he said " you know what, that movie was stupid but it was fun, so much fun that i saw it twice." And for my dad to watch one of these types of movies twice, that says a lot lol
