Dont know how to say this so I'll just say it. My girlfriend thinks my house has a demon. She was nearly in tears an hour ago when she felt a presence nearby. This is not the first time she has said this. She claimed that a shadowy figure watched her in our guest room one night and that she heard footsteps. She is a smart woman and not prone to hysterics but she was upset tonight. I also know she is a manic depressive and didn't take her meds today. Im not a religious person but she did seem convinced. All I know is I care for her very much.
Maybe if she understood her condition better, she might not attribute auditory and visual hallucinations to demons and monsters. Perhaps her therapist could explain this to her.

I was very tempted to say that to her, but she comes from a very religious family. Her mother is a teacher at a Lutheran school and sent her other daughter to a Lutheran college. They seem like the type of family that would only go to a Christian psychologist.

Not saying it was a demon, or even a ghost, but if you have the time, head back a page or so in the "UFOs and other (whatever)" thread and check out my story about the blue light I saw in my cousin's basement. I think it's the last post in that thread. I'm one of the most level-headed and emotionally calm guys out there, but I still can't explain what I saw that night. I really think there are things out there that go bump in the night (even if a lot of stories are B.S.) It's just a thought, but I wouldn't discount what she's saying too quickly. It might be her other issues.....or she might be telling the truth.

Hmm that complicates things. If she is sent to a religiously centered therapy, that will most likely just reinforce the sensations she felt in your home. Could you somehow convince her to see a secular doctor? What about the psychiatrist who prescribed her the medication? Does he/she provide therapy?

I dont know a whole lot about her therapist except they the whole family has gone to see him for years and they have become close. He actually felt offended when one of them saw another therapist.

Her father apparently saw a blue light in their basement once and it scared him. Then again he is an alcoholic and had been drinking.

Well that's a little unprofessional. If they want to seek out other therapists, they should do so without feeling guilt. Imo, it would be beneficial for her to see someone else. I'm sorry about your situation, you seem to be in a tight bind here. Perhaps she won't experience the same thing the next time she comes over, or maybe you could stay over at her place for a while until she feels comfortable coming back.

She is spending the night tonight. I told her to sleep in my room if she gets creeped out in the guest room. We'll see what happens.

I also am bipolar and see a therapist but mine is secular. I could try to gt her to see him but I am doubtful she would just for that reason.

If it's a persistent problem, only then would I suggest taking her to your therapist. I hope it works out for the best.

I confess that I may watch the Super Bowl just to watch Katy Perry at half time.

I confess that sometimes I wish my roommate's 12-year-old dog would just hurry up and die already. It's a completely impossible creature.

I found out recently that I have obsessive compulsive disorder. My life is a living nightmare. :(

I confess... I like Batman & Robin more then The Dark Knight Rises.

I think now that I finally earned my drivers license last week, I might miss having long walks like the one I had last month.

Just go for daily walks around the neighborhood or park.

I confess I fear Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, U2, and many more will eventually fade into obscurity. I never thought people would not know who The Beatles were until this whole Kanye West and Paul McCartney twitter fiasco.

For god's sake. A couple of years ago, I saw a bunch of Britney Spears's fans going crazy over Britney doing a cover of You Oughta Know christening it as her new single for Femme Fatale, not knowing it was an Alanis Morissette song. :(

Nah. They'll always be known to tons of people because they have lots of fans that will listen to their music around their kids. Some of those kids are bound to like the music, and it will stick around forever. Just look at the great god, Louis Armstrong. He died back in the 60's before a lot of the names on your list even started making their fame, and he's still revered in many circles. Maybe not as much as he used to be, but he'll always be remembered by people researching old music history.

Even then Michael Jackson will always be remembered because he was a black man that turned himself into a white woman for the world. You can never forget that. Of course the key word here is "forget." People not old enough to know him don't count because they're stupid kids that need to get off my lawn anyway.
