I think I might have told you this before, but when I was at the University of California, I took these classes in Swedish Massage. One of the things I learned was that there are pressure points that will help relieve menstrual cramps. There are a couple of them that I know of. One is on the inside of the leg and a little bit below the knee and the other is below the ankle on the inside part of your foot. It takes a little bit, but it really works. The dorms I lived in were coed and it wasn't unusual to get a knock on my door and, when I opened it, see someone who had their face kind of scrunched up and/or holding their tummy. I'd be like "okay, come on in". Sometimes people would actually come up to me and say "Can you really help people with cramps?". I guess word got around.
So, I guess it isn't surprising that people were comfortable talking to me about all kinds of things. When I look back, it was really just friends talking to friends and helping each other out. When I needed to talk to someone, there were always plenty of options and people who wanted to help.
