I confess I find it disturbing that people think diversity is creating an Anti-white message for society.
Ha, thank you! Might need to try to liquor method next time, lol. And good luck to you as well. The Hype is rooting for you!
We're survivors, we can do this. (a little bit of liquor would certainly help...)

I confess I find it disturbing how easily offended people get. Not only here in SHH but in society period. You can say whats on your mind, or speak the truth and you so quickly get labeled a racist, sexist, etc.
No comment is appropriate to reply to people thinking like that.
What's worse is you can't tread carefully enough around some of them.

I confess I've always considered myself very liberal... but ... here lately i just can't stand the whole "everything is offensive, I'm a delicate flower" mentality this country has fallen over.....
and it's not just happening with liberals.. but conservatives too.. The extremes on both ends are causing major rifts in both viewpoints...
I firmly do not believe bullying is a good thing, at least not when hounded.. and people should stick up for those being attacked... but I do have to wonder if there is bullying that is "ok" because it does teach us to stick up for ourselves... and it does teach us to have a backbone and learn to either fight our own battles or learn how to brush something off...
I really worry about the >millennial generation.. i'm somewhere between a millennial and a Gen Y/X (born in 85), and i absolutely refuse to be associated with the millennials..
I agree! I'm more of a conservative I guess is how you would label me. But I am very much more open minded than a lot. I could not agree more with the extremes of both sides! I also hate how it pins so many people against each other in some very dark and vicious ways.
As I mentioned before, I hate the everyone is offended by everything mentality. but I also hate the everyone expects hand out mentality as well. I'm a firm believer and supporter of the World owes us nothing, you have to work for what you want. earn it. build yourself.
Nice to see an open minded liberal as well with a similar thought for a change LOL *high fives*
I confess that I used to be super far-left but have been pushed more and more right by our current societal climate of everything is racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever-phobic because from my experience, the left has been more or less hijacked by that kind of people. It's gotten to the point where the quality of discourse has reached a new low, where people are more than content to attach labels to you rather than actually argue your points.
There are plenty of white people who are not "privileged".
oh totally.. i mean there are issues where i do think people are owed... but when it comes to other things i'm right there with you. If you were personally wronged and cheated out of something then you are owed.. but if your ancestors were..... i'm kinda over blaming people who currently have nothing to do with ti.. and generalizing a group of people who are innocent of it.
from everything from Red-Cups to "white privelage" i'm over all of it... both sides are making themselves look ridiculous.
I agree, I hate the "white privilege" saying. Just another excuse in my opinion to place blame on others.
I'm a 30 year old White male and I grew up POOR, my parents did the best they could with what we had. I started working part time at 14 years old. I worked my way up to where I am today, worked through 2 years of technical college and earned my degree and job. had to eat plenty of Ramen Noodles LOL
to be fair.. the right side has been dealing with the same things thanks to the Tea Party... Everything under the son is anti-christian, and they throw out just as many labels... they're both quite the same.
the far left and far right are all cray-cray
and i mean, i get there mindset.. with how even when poor and a hard worker you don't face the racial discrimination, the very troubled neighborhoods, the social stigmas etc... but at the same time, lets not pretend every white person is giving another race a hard time, lets not pretend you can't be black, asian, native american, middle-eastern, Indian, etc.. and be successful either (there's plenty who've worked hard, pulled themselves out of poverty, and fought for the careers they have. Do some people have it easier? sure.. but it's not a pissing contest..
there comes a point in time where you just have to stop blaming everyone.. accept you may have more struggles than others.. and rise above it all.
True, but I rarely hear anything about the Tea Party these days (maybe I'm just reading the wrong outlets).
