Contest of Marvels II Thread 3

New Sun vs The Leader

New Sun might be able to find information on The Leader. It depends on if their was a Leader in his reality, and if he could get any information on him. But I doubt it. Leader, on the other hand, will not find anything on New Sun.

But even without information, Leader can fall back on his genius intellect. He can develop strategies, built weapons and equipment to take with him. And, if given time, use the technology on the world to his advantage. Maybe even build some robots to attack New Sun directly while he says safely out of range.

And all of these advantages and weapons...will be useless.

New Sun has control over all kinetic energy. He is the ultimate expression of Gambit's powers. Any robot or physical attack like a rocket will find itself frozen in place. And, as they're frozen a safe distance away, New Sun just detonates them. No object would be able to reach them as they would just be super charged with energy and explode. (Unlike Gambit, New Sun does not need to touch an object to effect it.)

Laser-type attacks may be useful, but New Sun can fly and evade, and just blow up those weapons from a distance.

Of course, the destruction of his equipment and inability to harm New Sun will frustrate Leader to no end. And he'll succumb to his greatest weaknesses; impatience and arrogance. He'll try and confront New Sun directly, thinking that in a direct fight, with his weapons, he can stop the mutant.

Bad choice. New Sun can just blow the weapons up while Leader is holding them, injuring Leader. Or New Sun could just charge in and blow up Leader's limbs (he'd have no problem doing that).

Leader may be intelligent, but he's underpowered and his own worst enemy. New Sun is overpowered and can take out anything Leader throws at him.

New Sun wins

Yes but the higher she goes up, the thinner the air, the harder is is to breathe, meaning once she gets so high she'll need to concentrate to stay causcience.

Let me put it to you this way...there are many cities which are a couple miles above sea level. She can easily be at those levels which are beyond his ability to jump without her feeling any light headedness.

I am sure you have been skiing and I can tell you that is very high up.

Phaed would beg to differ And besides I wasn't tryig to say that the pigeon means he can call aliens I was using it against you statement that he can only summon mammals.

As I stated I was not sure so I am willing to state if that is the case then pieces of earth were used. However, that the Beyonder used vermin infested pieces of earth is debatable. Also, I admit if he can summon pigeon then his is not limited to mammals (even though I beleive this was probably an error of the writer not knowing that birds are not mammals) but given he cannot summon insects it is limited to a certain variety of animals which I doubt included aliens.

Given this is not a strength contest i do not see what difference this would make.

Match 18:

Spitfire (DARTHPHERE) bio

vs.

Mr. Immortal (ZOKEN) bio

In this match it comes down to one thing? How do you take down a man that is Immortal? The answer is: quite easily. Breakdown:

Mr. Immortal has True Immortality

Spitfire:the ability to run at lightning-fast speeds, with reflexes and agility to match. skin was also hardened to withstand the rigors of such speed, providing a type of body armor.

Quite frankly, Spitfire takes this match, because at the end of the day, its not about killing your opponent, just taking them out, and Spitfire, is one of the best at doing this. The location IMO doesn't matter at this point because in either case, Spitfire uses her speed to simply knock out Mr. Immortal who has bene taken out by simple armed robbers before. If this was a case of killing each other well the scenario would be different, but since it not Spitfire wins easily everytime. He comes back, she pwns him again its that easy.

Leader (HIPPY FASCIST) bio

Yup, hate to admit it but this one's a giveaway. I hate the leader, he's completely on dimensional. I swore I'd never do this but I'm actually going to be voting against my character this week

WINNER: NEW SUN! :(

but you are missing something: He comes back, and comes back, and comes back. even speedsters are shown as needing rest and recuperation. she can wail on Craig all she wants, but she can't keep him down. he will come back and she will be more and more tired. he, on the other hand, is refershed and psychotic and ready to kill. it may be difficult, but her skin is only hardened during her bouts of super-speed (if I read that bio carefully). so when she's not running, he can hurt her.

But he doesn't come back instantly, like ever. It takes him a while. And she's not killing him, merely knocking his ass out.

She's running at super-speed, he knows how to aim for the fatal shots, and he does comeback almost instantly. GLA# 4, he came back in time to stop that big thing from destroying the universe after blowing his own brains out. Besides, he'd probably do to her what he did to Maelstrom which is get her nice and depressed. get her to feel sorry, either for him or for herself. after all she aging at an accelerated rate, her son killed her husband, life sucks... some times there's really only one way out... only one thing to do, and one way to make all the hurt go away... if anyone can persuade someone into commiting suicide, It's Mr. Immortal.

Um shes survived all that and more, Mr. Immortal is not going to make her kill herself at this point.

Actually I just went snowboarding yesterday, first trip of the seasons. There were too many skiers cutting me off . But anyway yes the usual mountain height is breathable, but if she's only going that high I'm sure he can find a way up or have some small birds attack her, or he can dig into the ground, a trait common in rats, and wait for her to come back down. If she goes higher up she has two problems 1) accuracy of her sonic blasts and 2) dizyness.

Have you ever been to Denver? It's a capital city, a big city they're gonna have sewer rats. Animals are defined by fur/hair and birds are defined by wings/feathers now there are plenty of aliens with fur, wings, or feathers. An example would be Hezipah from the Starjammers (sorry Starjammer battle in the other thread) so there's always a chance but it's unlikely.

Maelstrom killed himself before seeing his own plot come to fruition on Mr. Immortal's suggestion, I bet he could talk a woman with as much tragedy as Spitfire has into suicide.

Yeah, if she was ******ed or like Lois Lane or something.

well, I still contend that he can tire her out. after all there is no water or food for them here on Battleworld, so she's going to be charging at him and charging at him, hoping to keep him down, which he won't let happen. she'll either injure him seriously, or he'll make sure that the injury is fatal, and be back on his feet in moments. let's also not forget that if they are in a forested area, the advantage goes to Craig who is an olympic level gymnist.

Plain and simple, she knocks him out, she wins. This isnt a battle to the death. Therefore the fact that he can come back to life is moot.

you seem to think he's slow or that he wouldn't move. he'd be moving. he's an acrobat. thusly, hitting him while he's moving is going to do grave injury. plus, it isn't as easy as you think to just knock someone out. besides, she's not going to know what his powers are so she'll probably be a little wary of him.

That sucks man but it generally is always th case when skiing on-piste. What is really cool is getting a guide who takes you on little used slopes. It makes for fantastic skiing

Well as I doubt this would be right off of a mountainside, I do not think he can jump to reach her. The one thing is the first time she sees him, she is blasting him. Given his durability is not good I doubt he would survive long enough to borrow under ground which takes time.

Hellstormer said:

Yes all major cities have them. I lived in NYC as well and saw a few in the metro. So what??

Actually that would be mammals not animals and that is not the only difference. FYI, anything that is not a plant is an animal.

There is also a chance I could win Euromillion but I am not banking on it and I doubt you could either here.

She runs with Union Jack and Cap, trust me, she's not easily frightened.

What are you talking about he's just a giant rat he can easily dodge something once he gets hit and realizes its a threat.

So there's plenty of rats for him to call forth, hundreds, thousands even.

....I won $47.67 at school the other day. I love those new pool tables. :D

You do realise if you get hit you get stunned and then you get hit some more. He is not surviving her sonic blasts.

Hellstormer said:

If the battle was in NYC yes there would be but it is in Battleworld in a whole another galaxy

That is skill not luck and if I may say that is a weird amount to win...well done though, you playing 8 ball or 9 ball or snooker?

Winner=Shriek

I don't know rats are pretty reasilent.

To my understanding all the organisms living in the individual areas are replicated as well.

O I suck at playing, I'm all about the trick shots. And people just gives me the weirdest shots and bet the oddest amount of money. My teacher always gives me yen for some reason.

Winner=Vermin

I tihnk this battle has fizzled out so can we end the debate? I won't do anymore rebuttals.

I didn't mean frightened, I just meant cautious. Wary, but not scared.

Not that resilient

I agree that this debate has gone as far as it could go. Lets see how the voters decide.

Winner - Shriek

*Shriek - (So many tough choices this week. Usually I have a clear indication of who to vote for; but, I'm 50/50 on quite a few this week.)

*Hercules

*New Sun - (I'm almost inclined to vote for Leader; because, the materials around Battleworld would give him an advantage in this fight. The guy is brilliant, and he wouldn't have his madness concerning The Hulk blinding the outcome of the fight. But, Hippy conceeded defeat; so, New Sun gets my vote.)

*Spitfire - (Another tough match.)

Shriek
Hercules
New Sun
Mr. Immortal (Who I actually think would lose nine times out of ten with Spit fire, but damnit he's among my faves, I'm voting for him)
