Ultimus vs. Kitty Pryde:
Just like JewishHobbit last week feeling bad about taking out Nico Minoru, I hate to eliminate one of my favorite characters, Kitty Pryde. When I first got into comics, she was one of the featured characters in X-Men 150-152; those issues got me hooked on the X-Men forever. (It's funny how people age in comics. I think she was about 13 in that issue; yet, now she's a woman engaging in sexual activity, while everyone else has hardly aged at all.) I can still picture the cover of issue #151, packing her bags and leaving.
Sadly, she'll be doing the same thing in Round 3: Packing her bags.
The bios.
Ultimus:
Powers:
Superhuman strenght, speed, stamina, agility and reflexes, metahuman durability, besides the ability to manipulate cosmic energy
Also, the bio from the Official Marvel Handbook Master Edition on Ultimus:
"Ultimus has the ability to manipulate cosmic energy to augment his life force, granting him great longevity and regenerative abilities, the projection of cosmic energy as concussive bolts from his hands, the ability to project an invisible force field about his body varying from a radius of one-inch to several yards, the ability to fly by harnessing anti-gravitons, and possibly other powers."
Also, under Strength, it says he has "Superhuman Class 90" powers, under Speed and Stamina both say "Superhuman," and under Durability it says "Metahuman."
Kitty Pryde:
Kitty passes the molecules of her body through matter, rendering her insubstantial. This ability also allows her to "walk on air," and even "detach" herself from Earth's gravity and appear to fly off, as she stays stationary while the Earth rotates at up to 1,000 miles per hour. She can phase other people and objects along with herself, as well as only part of an object. Her phasing through any electronic equipment causes it to short-circuit. She has refined this ability to sometimes allow her to cut off a person's nervous system (which is electrical in nature).
Shadowcat is also a fully-trained ninja, thanks to
Ogun, and is a computer and electronic hardware whiz
It's very unlikely that Kitty can hurt Ultimus. She obviously won't go so lethal on him as to kill him with her phasing powers. Plus, Ultimus can keep out of Kitty's reach by staying airborn. Meanwhile, Kitty's airborn tactics is more of a floating than fly; Ultimus would easily be able to avoid her.
This location doesn't do Kitty much good. The prison is old, and she will not be able to use her technical genius to it's fullest potential. Meanwhile, Ultimus can easily destroy the prison, fly around the outside, and eventually, Kitty has to stop phasing to breath. That will be all he has to wait for. (Plus, since Ultimus can control cosmic energies, it's possible that he can effect Kitty in some unknown way.)
Winner = Ultimus
