Yes, Steven R McQueen is leaving The Vampire Diaires. @julieplec comments coming soon to @EW
He hasn't really brought anything to the table this season, so I'm fine with this. I'm guessing they'll have learned their lesson from the last time, though, and will simply let him leave Mystic Falls rather than kill him.

Doesn't bother me. Jeremy always bored me, never should've bothered bringing him back from the dead. Though give him a year and he will come back to the show like some others....

'The Vampire Diaries' saying goodbye to Steven R. McQueen as series regular
By Natalie Abrams on Jan 11, 2015 at 4:30PM

Jeremy Gilbert will officially say goodbye to Mystic Falls.

The Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec reveals to EW that Steven R. McQueen will no longer be a series regular as of episode 14. Though Jeremy has left town before—and even died at one point—he really is leaving this time.

”It’s time for him to go out and live his life and we’re actually going to say goodbye to Steven R. McQueen as a series regular,” Plec tells us. “He’s growing up and moving on. He will be out living a real life.”

The catalyst for Jeremy’s story coming to an close springs from the show nearing its conclusion. “We’re in the third act of our storytelling of the show,” Plec says. “Everything that we’re doing is moving towards the end. Over the course of the next few years, we will need to start having the characters make choices about what they want with their lives and say goodbye to some people. It’s all part of moving toward the end, however long that takes.”

Still, there is a chance we could see him on the show again. “He could show up at weddings, funerals and series finales for sure, but this journey is taking him to another place.”
I thought it meant at the end of this season, not in the middle of it. Interesting.

Hey that means not that much Bonnie/Jeremy drama

Yeah I know that Nightwing rumor has been floating around.

But good move for them/him. Honestly he shouldve left years ago, same with Bonnie, Tyler, and arguably Matt.

How many more seasons do you guys think will happen? Im thinking 1 or 2. As Plec said they are in the third act.

I might actually start watching this again.

at least 1 more since it just got renewed for a seventh season.

I like McQueen, but the writers have always been guilty of wasting him and his character. I'm not surprised that they're doing what they've always done - tossing him aside until they need him again, except this time we're supposed to believe it's permanent.

I'm pleased that the show is choosing to end of its own accord instead of going and going and going.

That's if they stick to their guns, same was said about Supernatural and the only thing that changed was showrunner.

True. I was very surprised when Supernatural got renewed for a sixth season. I was so certain that they'd it at five. But I don't think Plec (or, frankly, the cast) will let the show go beyond another season or two.

TVD Adds Tristan Mays As (The Real) Sarah Salvatore

Still trying to understand the reasoning behind having the first one turn out to be a con artist. I mean, I guess it was to put Matt on the road he's on now, but that could've been accomplished just as easily by Enzo killing Tripp.

The first Sarah was pointless just like Enzo and jeremy in the first half of the season

I've decided to drop this show. I'm 2 episodes behind, I already know Kai comes back and starts throwing his weight around, and now this business with the Sarah fake-out, and I don't really care anymore to see how it goes down or what follows. I might come back for a binge when things finally wrap up once and for all.

Maybe now I can catch up on "Jane the Virgin."

Paul Welsey (Stefan)
“I think that we have another year in it and then I’m not sure anything past that. For me, I’m really still enjoying it because I’m directing it now and so that, to me, is like this really new thing. I think if it weren’t for the directing maybe I would be feeling somewhat stagnant, but I think next season will be kind of interesting because I think it’s – I think they’re gonna shift the dynamic because I’m not sure if it’s gonna be the same cast, to be honest with you. So it’ll be interesting to see what they come up with. And then I don’t know what’s gonna happen past that. I just, I don’t know.”

Wesley seems to be so over it. I can't blame him.

And here we go again with Damon making these stupid decisions that get other people killed and everyone just turns their heads away like nothing happened.
