CW Presents: The Vampire Diaries - Part 1

I wonder if this means Elena takes the cure that Bonnie brought back from '94. I was kind of hoping she wouldn't, but if she's leaving anyway...

I feel pretty confident she'll be human again and either she moves on somewhere else or she dies. They could do the whole body jumping thing but I don't think they will.

Lol I almost said that they probably wish they hadn't killed Katherine off before I remembered who she was played by....

They could hire Victoria Justice and people would barely even tell the difference.

I think it kind of has to end with her death. At this point, after all they've already been through, what could possibly get her to leave the side of her friends and the Salvatores but her own demise?

I can kind of see her willingly leave at a chance of a normal human life.

Or create a storyline around her disappearing.

Nina Dobrev is leaving

Did NOT see that coming. Wonder how they handle that exit.

More importantly, does this mean I can start shipping the s*** out of Bamon? :o

Geez, I guess all that gossip about her and Somerhalder might actually be true and caused this. No real idea how they will handle the exit on the show though.

The two are still friendly, I doubt that has anything to do with it.. The show is only going downhill so might as well jump ship now. She is a hot enough and good enough actress to land something else and if she doesn't she always has a tv show she can call home.

TVD has been awful for the last 3 years, good for Nina for finally leaving this trainwreck. And I'm laughing hysterically at the fact that the fans fought over stelena and delena being endgame for years and now neither ship will be lmao.

Okay, drama queen. :whatever:

Definitely shocked to hear this. Curious to see how they'll end her story and how they'll handle the next however many seasons they make without one of their main leads. Hopefully, this change is for the best, and the show improves .

At least we wont have to worry about everyone and their momma sacrificing their lives for her like she is some messiah.

she could be compelled to leave but that would be a terrible ending.

Vampire Diaries boss challenges fans to guess how Nina Dobrev leaves
BY NATALIE ABRAMS

After six seasons, The Vampire Diaries will say goodbye to Nina Dobrev’s Elena Gilbert, whose love triangle with the fanged Salvatore brothers has been the beating heart of the CW series.

“I won’t comment on how we will exit her,” EP Julie Plec says. The show’s fans, however, have plenty of theories. Here are a handful of them, submitted to EW via Twitter; share yours in the comments. And know this: “If by some miracle someone in this section is actually right,” says Plec, “I will personally take them to lunch—or a Skype cocktail hour—to talk about being a writer because clearly they should be one.”

Elena will be given the cure and her memories will erased so she can go off and live a normal life. — @RedJem25

I’m going to say Stefan kills her while in Ripper mode. That would made a dramatic season 7. — @princessgleek

I’m thinking the cure and/or some crazy body jump like on The Originals. Or! Sent to a prison world for excessive whining. — @evilapprentice

Dying to protect her friends. — @HannaFangirls

She will realize that she’s gay and move out? — @FeelsforSterek2

I think the Salvatore brothers will leave Mystic Falls and end up in a new town maybe. — @WarblerCourage

She’ll find out Jer[emy] is hunting again and go help him. — @Misheru_218

Travel around the world, back in last ep of S7 to live happily ever after with Damon. — @Ethlenn

She really died in the car accident with her parents and she hadn’t accepted her death. — @iloveZachR

The mother will kill her to punish Damon. — @toniwold

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
I find it promising that she thinks so few would be able to figure it out. I was kind of afraid she'd just leave Mystic Falls. I want a little more excitement to it than that.

Maybe she'll turn human then trip, fall on her head, and die. :hehe:

First time since Two and a Half Men that a show loses its lead.

What gossip?

That's why you don't **** where you eat. Dating co-workers is just asking for trouble.

From several quotes I've seen, it seems like she was always planning to bow out when her six-year deal was up. But the breakup certainly casts a shadow of doubt on that. If that was the source of the problem, I'm betting it's less to do with the breakup itself and more to do with Ian getting together with one of her friends after all was said and done.

I'm guessing Kevin and Julie Plec's original series finale ending is out the window now...

Look, It may not have been the only reason Nina left, but Ian is really not looking too good here. He's getting a real bad image here and they may not be able to fix it. The show is toast if they can't do something.
