The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Dane Dehaan IS Harry Osborn

Yeah DeHaan was awesome and one of my favorite things of the film. I know Cooper killed it with little time that he had in the movie...so Goblin like. But I seriously wouldn't mind if we get more Harry as Green Goblin.

I was impressed how great Cooper was: his appearance was far too short and I gave off a presence that's unlike anything I've ever seen. I hope we see him again, otherwise I feel he was completely underused, which is REALLY a crying shame.

DeHaan I felt could have been more in the film or developed a bit: perhaps a longer fight sequence too, honestly. Otherwise, he was both charming and creepy: a PEFFECT Harry Osbourne and insanely good Green Goblin. :woot:

Did you catch the little hand twitches throughout the movie?I like that he threw that in, unles it was Webb's idea.

But I think Cooper's screen time was intentional.

Oh and I'm with you. At least 3-4 more minutes of Harry's GG would've been nice. In the clock tower, it really started to come out. His yells and smiles. Spooky. And yes, his Harry was charming at the same time while prissy.

I know it was intentional: it could have been handled better, honestly. Though if we see him again, I'll eat my words.

Can anyone answer this question for me? Ok, so we know that Harry inherited the disease that killed his father, and he needs to find the cure. So at first he finds out that he needs Spiderman's blood to cure him, and then when he finds out that he can't get it he gets pissed off and gets kicked out of Oscorp (no longer CEO). And then he finds out that the spider venom from the genetically enhanced spiders can help him, but that just turns him into the Goblin. AND THEN he equipped the armor which supposedly healed him for good. I am confused; what was the point of all three things (blood, venom, suit)? Which one was the real "cure"? And why did he not just equip the suit in the first place? Wtf!? I did not get this part of the film at all. Can anyone explain this to me?

The blood and venom were the same thing. The suit was a prototype that may not have worked,

Ok so because Peter would not give Harry his blood, he decided to go for the venom because it was essentially the same thing (after he found out about it of course)? Makes sense, but then what was the point of the suit in the first place if that was supposed to heal him? Many have also said that the venom made him stronger while making him look ugly and distorted at the same time. Ok, so a few questions remain: WHAT healed him (if it really did...), WHAT made him stronger, and did the venom make his condition worse? This is really confusing

Here's the thing, the writers/director needed to get Harry to become the GG in the most expedient manner possible- that's all you need to know. If you have any questions or observations concerning inconsistencies, well, don't worry- I'm sure they'll be answered in the sequel :whatever:

Man, they really wasted Harry in this thing. Really loved Dane's performance as Harry, and when he is in full Goblin mode - he looked creepy as hell. They should have had at least two scenes with Harry in all his Goblin glory. Oh and that cackle of his was awesome. Shame he was underutilized.

I don't think Harry was wasted at all. More GG screen time? Yes. I would've loved to have seen his destruction at OsCorp.

He needed Spider-Man's blood first because he knew that "Spider-Man was bitten by one of those things" and since it clearly worked for Spider-Man due to his abilities and can do what a spider can, including self heal, he thought Spider-Man's blood could fix him. Spidey said no, he goes crazy and finds out through Felicia that the spiders STILL exist in special projects (after believing they were gone) so forget Spidey at this point, go straight for the source.

I'm lumping Harry and his time as GG all in one, but I think you understood what I meant, lol.

While I cant praise Dane Dehaan enough, doing a great job with what he was given. I cant help but feel like there should've been more of the goblin. I know there is talk of different cuts, and Im thinking there was a scene that showcased him more as the goblin before the clocktower.
theres that shot of him with Felicia standing behind glass doors and then even in the shot with him pointing, it all looks different from the clocktower. maybe a little Oscorp mayhem?

Spider-Man's blood is the same as the Spider Venom. When Harry takes the Venom it accelerates the "Osborn curse" A.K.A Goblin.
He then puts on the armor because he would die (like Norman) without it.
So I think that the Venom did heal him in a sense but without the armor he would'nt have survived the healing process.
I could be all wrong though.

Peter's blood & the Venom are not the same...that's why it didn't work, the suit just prolonged his life with the symptoms. He is still not cured, it comes & goes. Richard said it would not work without his blood or bloodline's blood.

Exactly what I was thinking, the way I see it is that the suit itself was something like a bandaid. When he used the Venom it accelerated the symptoms so he used the suit's healing functions to slow down the transformation. Otherwise, he probably would have died.

Now here's the interesting part: it looks like since Harry's body survived the initial acceleration with the Venom, he has obtained somewhat of a temporary cure when his immune system had gotten used to it. As a result, the transformation "comes and goes," and is unlikely to actually be fatal at this point.

Did you guys notice in the last shot in Ravencroft how his reflection on that metal piece on the wall was all longer and distorted and looked like 616 goblin face? That was pretty great and hopefully foreshadowing of a future transformation.

No I didn't notice that I would love a photo of that lol

So does everone think that norman wont became goblin in this serias and if so what will they do with him?

I have only seen the movie once will have to keep a look out for it when I see it again. I may go and see it again on Saturday with my mom for a early months day has she likes the spider man movies to but not like us lol.

Agree about Harry's Goblin but it's clear they just wanted to introduce audiences to him to set up ASM 3 or Sinister Six which ever comes first. Same deal with Rhino.

He already looked Goblin like on his death bed. Green skin, long sharp finger nails etc. He probably will be in a future movie in full goblin mode ( Ultimate version).

Gwen HAD to die. And she could die only from the Goblin. If they had killed her in ASM3 she would have been established as the main love interest and she would overshadow MJ. So they had to put GG in this one so that he can kill her. I didn't mind it one bit.

I welcome a non-Norman Goblin. Making Harry the first was a good way to distance themselves from the Raimi movies, where even the damn ghost of Norman Osborn was around. I quite liked Dehaan's Harry and really liked his Goblin. I totally geeked out at his pumpkin bomb. I'm much more interested in this Green Goblin than Norman being brought back to life just for "the comics."

Saw this again yesterday. I like Dane Dehaan as Harry, he's no Franco (nor is he really written as Harry, he's more Norman), but he was solid. Once he was Gobby, he was a little...cheesy, but nothing terrible.
