Whose going to this event that AMC Theaters is having throughout the country?
http://go.amctheatres.com/tdkr
What does the show schedule look like for this event?
Total Run Time: 525 minutes, including intermissions

6:00pm Batman Begins - 25 minute break

8:45pm The Dark Knight - 44 minute break

12:01am The Dark Knight Rises

Just convinced my gf to go with me after work...lol

Going to be one awesome event I hope *crossing my fingers I dont get tired*.

Its the first multi-movie event I am going to

Ill be going. The Loews AMC 22 Waterfront in Pittsburgh!

It should be a very nice crowd! Im just trying to figure out how to dress.

Im really happy about the 45 minute break between TDK and TDKR... gives great opportunity to possibly get food and refresh.

Whats everyone else doing about food? Has anyone done one of these marathons before? Id like to stay for the movies in full, but Im thinking I might have to cut out early for food, its a very hard choice.

I think Im going to bring a pillow and stuff to keep my ass from getting unbearably numb haha.

I'm actually looking to sell my tickets for the AMC 14 @the district in orange county, CA. I am unable to go due to the military.

Nice guys...Im headed for Time Square :)

trying to see if i can wear my batman t-shirt to work lol

I'm going, but I'll be seeing the the marathon in IMAX. I know they did one for the Avengers, but I think the franchise that started the marathons was Twilight. I feel so bad for all the people dragged into those, and they're misery isn't over yet.

Bay St 16 is like 10 minutes from me!! I gotta get tickets....NOW!!

Oh yea, I'm seeing it in Liemax.

The marathons existed far longer before twilight. Im not sure if star wars did it, but i know Lord of the rings did it as far as I remember back anyway

If the marathon was playing in real IMAX theaters i'd love to go. But true Nolan fans are seeing this in real IMAX on opening night ;)

I thought about going but I think I'll be too exhausted by the time I see TDKR, so I'll just have a marathon at home a couple of days prior to the 19th. Though it would be great to see the first two films on the big-screen again.

No they aren't. True fans are seeing the trilogy in liemax as a celebration. Then seeing it the same day/opening night in real Imax.

If you can't stick out the trilogy then stay home. Trilogy or bust in my view.

True Nolan fans pretend that his three Batman films don't exist! :oldrazz:

Just saw my local AMC is now doing the Marathon too! Question though, it is $25 for regular but is it worth the extra $15 to see it in LieMAX? I haven't seen a film on AMC's IMAX.

Pretty sure Nolan makes an emphasis to promote the movement towards real IMAX. Idk could be wrong, but I thought it was pretty obvious. The only way to see this opening night @ midnight is in true IMAX. I can always watch BB and TDK while in line.

What I have heard is Nolan has redid Batman Begins so its in true IMAX.

Not sure what they mean by that...But only 50 theaters at the time had that film in imax

BB wasn't released in IMAX. TDK was the first hollywood film to be released in 70mm. They digitally edited BB for IMAX, which is what most hollywood films do, which is mean't for Liemax. You can't go back and post convert a 35mm film and make it 70mm.

So what's better about the fake IMAX vs regular? Friend of mine only said its like watching your blu-rays on a large theater screen.

The true IMAX screen I know of is 9 miles away and would take me 15 minutes to get there.

Real IMAX is 80 feet Tall and Fits better for Films Made with IMAX Cameras
Fake IMAX is only 10 feet taller then Regular Theaters?
I'll see it In Real IMAX later
I'm going to the same AMC me and my gf went to for The Avengers Marathon. It won't be in REAL IMAX but there's only one in AZ and it's 30 miles from me and they aren't doing the Trilogy but they are doing it at my AMC in Fake IMAX but I don't care I love that Theater and The IMAX there sounds and looks better and I wanna see BATMAN BEGINS in the Theaters again
The Avengers one I went late so I missed Iron Man 1 and Incredible Hulk and Luckily we found a seat in the front row and Enjoyed Iron Man 2,Thor,Captain America and The Avengers. It was fun and we could leave at anytime but be-careful that no one takes your seat but because It starts at 6pm and It's Batman I'm probably not going to leave unless I have to pee lol It's gonna be EPIC. I have a feeling I'm gonna cry :(

They are going to have intermissions...which means people will get out of their seats for sure...I dont know what they plan to do with this one, but im going force myself to get out of work at 5pm and get to the theater and get the best seat possible. Most importantly I must get Dark Knight Rises in a excellent seat

I'm attending the marathon at Arclight Hollywood. Unlike the AMC offering, you have to buy each ticket separately.

Batman Begins was only released in 70mm IMAX as digital IMAX theaters hadn't come around by then, for the trilogy version they took the original IMAX release and created a digital master that probably will look great, but likely not as impressive as if you had seen it in IMAX upon its original release.

As for the whole Nolan fan thing, while I think Nolan is a very talented director I consider myself a Batman fan first and foremost, and I would still be pumped to see this movie even if there had been another director.

Yeah, I probably wouldnt be...But I guess most die-hard comic book fans of Batman would be there even if it was filmed by Joel Schumaccher again

I'll be at the same marathon!

I plan on bringing a backpack with snacks and stuff and taking BB/TDK at my leisure (taking walking breaks and such), so I'm ready to sit and not move once TDKR starts at midnight.

I'd love to, but unfortunately for my friends and I, we have work. So I'll settle for the midnight IMAX showing of TDKR as a consolation prize and watch BB and TDK again on Blu-ray in the comfort of my own home the weekend before.
