Perhaps that person's consciousness would run into a "wall". I think of it like this: Kitty doesn't just send someone roaming back in time, he sends someone back through his own personal timeline which is a straight, not infinite line. But she still needs to lock that person's mind down.
I think my point is that the new Alternate Kitty never sent Logan back so he shouldn't have returned, and if she did that wouldn't be our Logan but the future Logan of this new timeline that she sends back.
I think they kinda made a mistake by having it so that she has to maintain contact, it was comic accurate but it made her a living alterable time-machine and since they changed time so that she didn't send him back then everything from the Dystopian timeline including Logan should've ceased to exist.
In the scene where everything changed and she, the Sentinels and Logan disappeared that was when Contact was broken and he snapped back to the future.
Hmmm, since contact was broken at that point, that would've thrown him forward in time to the point in time where contact was broken.
I guess it does make sense if you look at it as Logan being thrown forward in time due to the missions success and cease of Contact with future Kitty AND him existing outside of time and not a product of the new timeline or where characters are in that new timeline.
I dunno, Time-Travel, it's a mind-****
