Days of Future Past Days of Future Past SPOILERS! (You have been warned!) - Part 3

Perhaps that person's consciousness would run into a "wall". I think of it like this: Kitty doesn't just send someone roaming back in time, he sends someone back through his own personal timeline which is a straight, not infinite line. But she still needs to lock that person's mind down.

I think my point is that the new Alternate Kitty never sent Logan back so he shouldn't have returned, and if she did that wouldn't be our Logan but the future Logan of this new timeline that she sends back.

I think they kinda made a mistake by having it so that she has to maintain contact, it was comic accurate but it made her a living alterable time-machine and since they changed time so that she didn't send him back then everything from the Dystopian timeline including Logan should've ceased to exist.

In the scene where everything changed and she, the Sentinels and Logan disappeared that was when Contact was broken and he snapped back to the future.

Hmmm, since contact was broken at that point, that would've thrown him forward in time to the point in time where contact was broken.

I guess it does make sense if you look at it as Logan being thrown forward in time due to the missions success and cease of Contact with future Kitty AND him existing outside of time and not a product of the new timeline or where characters are in that new timeline.

I dunno, Time-Travel, it's a mind-**** :funny:

Yes. I believe that in 2023, Magneto got his redemption moment. Darth Vader-moment. Everything was lost, and he regretted fighting all his life.

And that was damn beautiful.

Agreed and it was definitely something to see the two actually agreeing that they were both right when it came to their ideologies.

Ah, so you mean that you think Wolverine should've snapped back to the future which didn't exist anymore and...be lost? Is that what you're after?

I just take it simply, his mind is connected to his body. The moment the future changed and contact was lost, his mind returned to his only existing body in 2023.

No, more the latter part of your sentence.

Assuming he exists outside of time then as soon as Mystique dropped the gun and would not kill Trask (the point in time) then time would be been altered, contact lost to Kitty and Logan's mind would snap back to the precise date in 2023 which he travelled from and occupy his body.

My problem is I wasn't thinking 4th Dimensionally

I was thinking of the new altered timeline and how Logan wasn't sent from there so shouldn't return to there, but I didn't consider the rules of Kitty's powers in that when contact is lost the traveller will go from the past back to the future, whichever future is created from the point in time the traveller leaves

Hah, seems like this movie is smarter than it really should.

BIG SPOILERS:

I loved the cameo of Emma Silverfox at the end.

Another way to aknowledge the fact Origins belongs to the Timeline Prime canon... brilliant! :word:

After all, she is one of the second generation of X-Men in the movieverse:

Cyclops, Beast, Jean Grey, Emma Silverfox, Storm

She was rescued along with Cyke in Origins.

She was at the very end of DOFP :) Nice touch, Singer!

Silverfox would be about 70 by this point...
she'd be about the same age as Scott and he didnt look old in that final scene.

I think someone is just confusing some random blonde in the scene for Emma. No one caught it bc she wasnt there

lol this movie has the easiest to understand time travel rules and some people still get confused.

She wasn't in the film...

All of Origins was dropped from continuity and rightfully so. They showed no clips from Origins and instead showed X2 and X3 clips. X3 was retconned but Origins was completely dropped off the planet.

They did have a clip from Origins. It was Wolverine getting his claws stomped on by Sabretooth.

There were clips from Origins shown (Sabertooth smashing Logan's bone claws, and flashes of the Weapon X scene), but there was no Emma cameo.

They do list X-Men Origins Wolverine in the credits in the part where they mention footage from other movies, so a couple shots from it were inserted into the montage apparently. But, they had more emphasis on the X2 shots from the Weapon X escape.

Personally, I am ignoring it exists, LOL!

So was that Cable at the start or just someone who looked a bit like him? See a few websites are counting this as a cameo but I'm not sure Ive seen it mentioned here.

I'm pretty sure it was just someone who looked a bit like him. If they introduce Cable, it'll probably be in an X-Force film, should it be made.

I remember the end credits acknowledgement but I didn't remember the specific clip as I thought his claw removal clip was The Wolverine and they emphasized X2 Stryker instead of Origins Stryker in the flashbacks....meaning Singer went with his version of Weapon X. Plus, they are recasting Gambit and Donner wants to redo Deadpool so as far as I'm concerned, they've completely eradicated Origins. X3 they just retconned in the new timeline. X1 seems to still exist but not so sure on X2. We will have to wait and see if Nightcrawler comes back and what they reference.

Even prior to DoFP, I ignored Origins. I am glad we're getting a new Gambit, likely a new Deadpool at some point, etc also further making me feel like that movie shouldn't count in the first place. It never meshed with X2, and the film itself was crap. DoFP just gives me more excuses to not even consider it canon at any point in time. I still count X1-X3.

I honestly don't know how much of the OT was nullified in the new timeline, but I am also hoping it is left sort of vague. I kind of like the idea of letting this be the end of the OT crew.

Question: so since we saw Scott, Jean, and Storm, Hank, Charles, and Logan in the new future. . . Does that mean that no matter what happens in X:A those characters won't die? :D
