Dexter - Part 4

I don't think he was a Psycho in the early seasons. I think he is just socially ******ed. For whatever reason he has trouble connecting to people socially. Could be, because since he was at least 9. Harry has treated him like an alien.

He basically got off on killing people, and the ritual of doing so. That's a level beyond social ******ation; that's pure psycho.

He has always shown that he cares about people. At the end of the 1st season when Brian took Deb. He lost his mind. That is something a Psychopath would not have felt. He seemed torn up about killing his brother as well.
I don't remember specifically what happened with Deb, but I do recall his main reason for saving her was that he was 'fond of her'. That's a big step from where we are now.

And I think Brian's situation is different. Basically, he was the first person to understand Dexter. I think even the most emotionally dead person would have stirred emotions about that.

The Shipping container incident certainly damaged him, but I think Harry damaged him more by just assuming he was a Psycho.

I think Vogel just wanted an experiment that was young enough to mold. I think Hitler said something like give me a child, & I will give you a soldier. Something like that anyway.
I honestly think you're looking way too deep into this really. I would find it pretty stupid if Vogel tries to claim she created Dexter as some kind of experimental solider or whatever when she'd never even met him directly. If anything, I think she might be experimenting on him now.

I'm sorry, but Dex is clearly a psychopath... Before Harry started 'teaching' him... he was killing peoples pets. He's just a psycho that Vogel has yet to experience, which is why shes writing the book. He is a psycho that needs certain things, like Deb, to keep himself grounded in a way... rule #1... Don't get caught. things like Deb, Rita, the kids... keeps him from crossing the line Harry and Vogel created.

He loses his **** when Deb gets kidnapped...etc etc... because he knows if he loses all that anchors him down, he is ****ed and then unable to feed his need to kill.

I don't think he loves anything. He is forcing himself to 'love'... just like Vogel said... he is selfish about it. it is all psychological for him. He was going to be a ITK type killer, no rules... but now he has had the code shoved into his head for so long, it actually makes him crazier IMO. He is literally scared of losing himself.

so where did that amazing box set come from? thats just freaking cool.

I disagree wholeheartedly. The ability to kill does not make you a psycho. He has psychopathic tendencies, but he is sure as hell not a pure psychopath. Not even close.

I suppose we will find out in the coming weeks. Should be interesting.

Well, I think that Season 8, Episode 2 could very well be the worst episode of Dexterever. Yes, worse than even the lowest ebbs of Season 6, though like that season this one seems to have come armed with an insultingly obvious "twist" that they're gonna drag out for another few episodes like we're too dumb to have instantly figured it out. Couple that with truly abysmal writing (like bad Dexter fanfiction), and even flat direction, and everything about this amounted to an utterly **** hour of television. So bad that I'm questioning watching the next episode, even from an "I've spent the past several years of my life watching the past 7 seasons so I might as well see it through to the end with this final season" perspective.

Just started season 2 of Mad Men and who pops up? Jonah Mitchell. Certainly unexpected as I've never seen him in anything else other than Dexter

Ehh I doubt it. I couldn't really care either way at this point either. I just hope tomorrow's episode is as awesome as it looked in previews and we start to get more of a feel that this actually is the final season.

Are you sure it was him? I was curious and googled it, and Mad Men doesn't show up on his filmography. He's been in a lot of stuff, but mainly for just a few episodes.

For some reason I have this feeling that tonight's episode will be very polarizing.

Nah it was definitely him. Him and some other guy were at the offices talking business and he was wearing this light brown/tan colored sweater. I'm pretty damn sure it was him, I'm damn good with faces and names but I mean, he wasn't on screen long at all so there's a small chance I could be wrong here.

Hold up, they're back in episode s02e07. Yea I'm pretty damn sure it's him. He has a foreign accent I can't pinpoint and he seems taller but man if this isn't him it's his damn twin

well... that was interesting... can't wait for the whole Dex being pissed as **** as Deb thing

They have an interesting experiment going. If Dexter suddenly starts to hate Deb. Will he still save her? If he has deluded himself. Then will dispatch her directly....

I thought Deb might be taking Dexter into a trap to turn him in. That was...unexpected.

i'm calling it out now:

Harry did not kill himself. Vogel killed him before he could expose her.

Masuka had the best scene. That laughing, LOL.

i thought that too! It is pretty 'Hannah-like'... which worries me they will try and connect Hannah and Vogel.

Deb is an idiot, just when I thought she might be somewhat worthwhile.

How about that Friday The 13th-esque ending?

BTW, I always said Harrison is totally following Dex's footprints. He's totally going to be killin'... imaginary friend Dan, more like Dark Passenger Dan.

That **** was ****ing predictable! The stuff with Dex/Vogel/Deb is all great but the rest is just ****ing stupid. People should be zeroing in on Dexter at this point SOMETHING with a sense of finality should be going on. And next week we have some other killer being introduced? Seriously?? I'm seriously kinda upset right now, this and True Blood both are just becoming so increasingly stupid with each episode this year with only a single storyline being worth a damn
