Dexter - Part 5

Another gripe. Right or Wrong, previous season Deb would not have taken that much sh** talk from Elway. If this season gives me anything. Please let it be that Deb goes off on Elway with one of her famous cursefests!

Eh, I'm okay with it. Deb has sort of being using him to a ridiculous degree, so he's pretty warranted to call her out.

You are just insane, or haven't really watched previous Dexter. The quality drop is tremendous!

& I am on of the ones that liked season 6...

Oh, I think you're probably the insane one here if you think this season is as bad as six ended up being. That was easily the lowest part of the series without contest.

I've been a loyal follower from the beginning...some seasons are better than others....but taken as a whole, Dexter is still one of the most solid entertaining shows out there...I for one can't wait to see the final 3 episodes and see what they come up with....Goodbye Dexter, you will be missed....

Go ahead & enjoy. I could give a sh** less.

I personally don't need every little detail explained to me through VO.

Meh, I still think it's the same with Season 5. Both were weak in their own way. Season 6 had a good start and it had interesting material for them to work with, but they kinda fail to do it properly.

Yeah mate, I'm totally insane! Better be careful, there's no telling what I might do if we meet! Looks like having a different opinions equals being insane these days, didn't knew so thanks for the heads up

& good for you.

Season 6 had it moments. But it is by far the worse season. Season 8 is more like a season 3 to me... meh/decent but ITS NOT OVER YET.

It's funny seeing some people come out of no where complaining.

I won't post again (probably) til the finale. :hehe:

Season 6 is bad but think it could feel like its worse because its the final season. We want something great for the end.

As dumb as it ended up being, 6 at least had a consistent season. This one is all over the place.

I dunno. This season has felt so overwhelmingly disappointing that it just totally eclipses season 6's horridness IMO. If this wasn't the final season then ok it would be a totally different story and then this would be on a season 3/5 level but no, this is it guys. As I said, overwhelmingly disappointing. I just can not understand how these writers even have jobs.

I'm being optimistic, hoping the final 3 episodes are awesome...

optimism aside... f*** :funny:

There's nothing that could happen in the next few episodes aside from Dexter getting outed somehow that could make me love this season. That isn't happening so that's it for me. As a whole ill always love dexter but ill always look at it as a show that had its potential squandered by frivolous, unfocused writers. It has to be the number of show runner changes or something

Let's wait. then complain.(which i plan to do)

I know this season is ****ing bad. but lets see how it ends first.

that being said, I am fully confident I will ignore this and focus on Breaking Bad, Ray Danovan, and the premiere of Bob;s Burgers.

Oh I'm not sweatin it like that. Ill ALWAYS have more than enough shows to watch. Out with the old, in with the new.

With the way this show has been going, they'll reveal a twist right at the end that Harry was always real and Dexter was the ghost living in a purgatory state.

Thinking it over, I am glad this is the last season. Clearly the writers have run out of ideas and what to do with Dexter so they're taking all the discarded bits from previous seasons and putting them in here, forcibly at times, so they can say they got everything they wanted on the screen.

It's just too bad so much of it is pointless filler crap that doesn't do anything but make Dexter a disappointing final season.

Theme of the season.

Wow, I can't believe so many are saying this is as bad or worse than ****ing season 6. I mean, sure, it started out with some good ideas, but that thing turned into a train wreck, and the train was carrying a nuclear bomb. That was easily the lowest point for Dexter to me.

I'm really trying to find good stuff in this season to post in here, but I just can't.

Season 6 kind of had a "so bad it's good" vibe. This season is just boring.

I posted a status yesterday after watching this week's episode:

"Breaking Bad: 5 episodes left after Jesse learns a huge, game-changing revelation.
Dexter: 3 episodes left and mother****ers are eating salad.

For Christ's sake, Walter Jr. isn't even eating breakfast in his scenes.

And dammit Dexter, update your OS X."

BB and Dexter are two different kinda shows its not fair to compare the two. BTW i'm not a fan of how BB is just so neatly tying up all of Walter's secrets. I guess it is great for fans but it has me like meh.

Yes, Breaking Bad and Dexter are different -and I'm always against comparisons-, but this time both shows share similar things; both are ending, both are character studies involving murder, crime, etc; and the reason why they are being compared is because the big difference in the way the urgency is being handled in the final season/episodes. Breaking Bad is doing a great show at keeping the suspense, Dexter went the other way, I couldn't care less about what's happening.

Also take into mind Dexter is ending after 8 seasons while this is officially BB's 5th. That show is ending near it's peak and I think most would agree if Dexter was ending after season four I think you would have a totally different situation.

Right, but the amount of seasons doesn't really matter. Is the way the story unfolded. Breaking Bad seems more contained, like a single storyline. Dexter is more chapter-oriented. Maybe that's one of the reasons why BB's ending seems more powerful.
