"I don't know, Quinn makes me happy..."
-"Really? 'Cause there's a vein in your forehead."
Any time Dexter is forced to be involved in the intracacies of relationship drama, comedy is to be had.
Also enjoy that Debra is moving beyond the shadow of her father, and Quinn for that matter. I can't see him staying on in this kind of working environment, but who knows. Her taking Lt. is the next logical step in her arc, and all the uncertainty that that's going to bring.
Speaking of Quinn--if he's not Debra's lover, what's his relevance to the show now? I'd rather not re-hash his suspicion of Dexter, which got cut off out of respect for his relationship with Deb. Maybe he'll be a victim of Olmos and co.
I love that they are maintaining an ambiguity about Olmos' nature. I thought for sure he'd show up at that last ambush. With the introduction of his baby sister they might very well giving us another "Dexter" as a villain.
Dexter's dad seems a lot better characterized in this episode, more contemplative and cautious rather than fist-pumping. So points for that.
Batista is interesting. At this point, he's a bit of a wild card. He's pissed at Laguerta in particular and his life in general, and he's been in brawls before. Can't wait to see what happens with that.
