There is no freakin trilogy curse, some just aren't as good as others.

Yes, it did. It was just as good as the other two Spidey movies.

It owned the trilogy curse. It took a piece of paper labeled "trilogy curse", then it took a crap on it, threw it into the air then pile drived into a paper shredder, and voila, this is how the curse died.

VIVA Le SPIDER-MAN.

Seriously, its on par with the second movie NOT BETTER but as good. i loved this trilogy :)

History has shown the 3rd film is superhero movie franchaises tends to be really disapointing overall.

Case in point;

Superman III with Richard Pryor

Batman Forever

Blade Trinity

X3

Did Spider-man III actually break this trend or was this film disapointing as well?

IMO it did .

I've really thought long and hard about this and while it had its weak spots, I definitely enjoyed it for what it was. I would place SM-3 as the second-best Spidey movie behind SM-2. I thought it did more than enough stuff right to help undo the 3 movie curse, but not break it.

There is a consistent stream of mediocre to just plain bad third chapter superhero movies, enough for some to think that there is some faux voodo curse.

Is it a curse? Of course not. Mere coincidence? In the land of superheroes, there's no such thing.

I guarantee causal fans and general audience will LOVE it. And i think in the end it will win over some of the hard cores too..it won me over..im a hard core.

But you're not everybody. In any case, I think you're going to be right ... Joe Moviegoer will love it, but an assorted bunch, perhaps even more, will dislike it.

Its somewhat of a tossup for me.

Raimi like the corny tone he set from SM2, with the bad hair do for PP
Why How did he get Symbiote to Connors without transition?
Why was symbiote not immediately attaching to someone?
How did Venom know about Sandman's daughter?!
Overall Sandman plot was SOLID
And Harry threatened to do what to MJ to breakup with PP?
Venom Personally Kicked Ass, but the symbiote story was weak, much like Phoenix in X3
GG/SM teamup...AMAZING

Overall
Raimi left a lot of plot holes which brinf the movie down
The dark Peter Parker was at times more funnier then serious
However the essence of friendship of the trio and CGI and battles to boot keep the movie score higher up.
Last problem.....where the **** was spiderman at the end of the movie?

I gave it a yes for breaking curse. Because comic books fans will be only ones picking at plot details (though some plot holes were obvious)
Major thing that kept it to surpass, was The full character developments of the characters, so i cant knock the movie.

Only thing i was hoping for was that Aunt May would say she knows that Peter is Spiderman

Spider-man 3 was dissapointing.... it's the best 3rd entry in a comic book trilogy, but nothing fantastic.

Don't forget TMNT 3. Though the second one sucked too.

Did Spider-man III actually break this trend or was this film disapointing as well?
Nah, it was disappointing.

I think Spider-Man 3 is awesome. Better than the first 2 IMO

The 1st two were just truly great movies. On it's own, it's a pretty good movie, but compare it to it's predecessors, it's disappointing.

I enjoyed the movie, however, the only thing I felt that was wrong with it, was it felt rushed, probably too many villians. Secondly, a little too much camp. Once they showed that Parker was effected by the Symbiote, they kept repeating that he was under the influence of it. They should have shown it one time and moved on to the next scene. The audience got it, move along.

I wonder how many deleted scenes there were?

I agree with everyone on here, when they say that 2 was better than 3

From top to bottom
Spider-man 2........9.5
Spider-man 3........8.5
Spider-man 1........8.0

Keep in mind that these films are to be looked at as one giant story.

If Cyclops and Xavier didn't die most people would admit X3 was better than X1.

Umm, I've been saying that since after I saw it. :hyper: Although I believe X2 was better than 3.

I'll decide if it breaks the curse once I've seen it.

At that point (when x3 came out) I was like F$$$ it! they can do whatever they want, they already screwed the franchise to hell with the first two anyway. But amazingly Ratner actually pulled things from comics with this movie and even if it wasn't like straight out of a single story, everything honestly seemed to fit in a comic book. Xavier transferring to another body.. perfect.

Did you watch the movie? Most of the crap done in this movie had very little to do with the actual comics.

I don't think there is a trilogy curse. So a couple of films happened to be bad not all of them are.

I agree that X3,and Superman III sucked, but I thought Blade Trinity was decent hell better than the second one. I also enjoyed Batman Forever then again I wasn't a huge fan boy of the first one I thought it was very poorly done. Batman & Robin now that was crap worst comic movie ever but it was a 4th

Technically its a good movie, but no where near the first two. It hard to say, because I liked it, but I really don't have any desire to see it again until the DVD. I don't think it broke the curse because it was disappointing.
