I feel like she's been waiting on this for years and has been just as dissatisfied with her character as most have. You can really tell that she's excited for the direction her character is going in and is very eager to explore new territory. Good for her.

Yeah you can tell this is what she has been waiting for, this is her first major show that has lasted past 1 season and she took the role because it was Dinah/Canary. She probably has been biting her tongue for the past 2 years, cant wait for to see her kick butt in leather.

Seeing another character being able to play BC before you while at the same time having a rather poor storyline must have been tough.

I was pretty pissed at the writers for first half of last season and never blamed Cassidy. It seemed like the Writers had no idea what to do with her last season until a certain point where she was useful.

Will we see Laurel take more steps to becoming the Black Canary?
Guggenheim: I certainly don’t want to spoil anything, but suffice it to say we definitely intended Laurel to be set on a path when Sara gave her that jacket. And you have not seen the last of that jacket. This so borders on spoiler, but I think people who love Laurel’s character and love the idea of her being more active in fighting crime than just being a district attorney will be really happy this year.

I can't wait to see exactly what Laurel's reaction to the ending of tonight's episode is going to be; we know where she's eventually going to end up, but I want to see what her immediate reaction to the whole situation is. I also have to say that, as someone who's always enjoyed her character, I don't think I would want to be the person responsible for what happened, because he/she is going to have two incredibly pissed off and driven superheroes coming after them at some point.

My biggest question is on whether they'll try to pass off Laurel as being physically gifted enough to take on foes with just being trained by Ted Grant.

I mean she may become a better fighter, but she would still quite far from being as able as someone that was trained by the LOA.

Is Laurel then going to have several different trainers like how Oliver had?

I could definitely see Nyssa taking Laurel under her wing and helping facilitate her becoming the new Canary.

Self-Defense Classes and Ancient Training that puts, and I quote the recently departed Sara on this, the Special forces to shame are two entirely different things.

Diggs could easily beat Laurel at her current level of fighting skills and Sara could wipe the floor with Diggs.
