I don't think Laurel will become BC until next season......she will need to skill in hand to hand combat and perhaps other weapons when needed......

I bet she suits up at the S3 finale.
Self-Defense Classes and Ancient Training that puts, and I quote the recently departed Sara on this, the Special forces to shame are two entirely different things.
Diggs could easily beat Laurel at her current level of fighting skills and Sara could wipe the floor with Diggs.
I think if they didn't plan on BC coming to fruition this year, Cassidy wouldn't be working her butt off and showing off her workout. She's not going to be Sara-level, but I suspect she won't need to be. Diggle isn't, neither is Roy. She'll be a competent vigilante, ready for any street fight, able to take on a world class fighter with a little luck and resourcefulness.
I also like that she's getting her own training instead of being trained by Oliver, or the LoS for that matter, she's going to have her own stuff she comes to the table with. I can forsee Wildcat being a very tough sensei.
t:They'd better have a convincing explanation. I'm not sure that Wildcat will cut it by himself. "Trained by an ex-boxer for a few weeks/months" doesn't sound nearly as impressive as "trained by the League of Assassins and Ra's al Ghul for YEARS." It's kind of like how Roy went from barely knowing how to hold a bow properly to being a world-class archer in the span of like two episode, and all of that development occurred off-screen. I hate it when writers pull that crap, it's so freaking lazy on their part. I don't dislike Laurel like a lot of people do, heck I've defended her in the past. And I'm not opposed to her becoming BC. But give us a plausible explanation for how she becomes BC-level badass, and actually SHOW that development.
Dont underestimate Ted Grant. He's a superhero in the comics and could give most martial artist a run for their money. Not only has he beaten Batman he"s one of the men who trained him. We don't know how accurately he will be portrayed on Arrow but it wouldn't be a surprise if he's better in h2h than Sarah or even Oliver.
