It's actually a misunderstanding of what's actually happening within the show.

Anyone think its kind of funny Katie is way more built than Gal Gadot, in a rather short amount of time, who is playing Wonder Woman? And on top of that Black Canary isn't really known for her muscles, she wears a jacket after all.

I agree that the biggest mis-step they made was in making Laurel a D.A.
I actually welcomed the "Booze 'n Pills" storyline, thinking it would at least, unseat her from that job.But she ended up blackmailing her way back in a matter of episodes.

I think the "people's advocate" thing from season 1 was much better suited to her.As a D.A she comes across too prissy. As soon as she came into the the last episode giving Ted the whole "DO YOU KNOW LYING TO A D.A. IS A FELONY?" spiel,I was rolling my eyes yet again. That's the kinda stuff that keeps her from connecting to some viewers. It's hard to empathize with a character when you feel like yelling "Shaddup already!"at them.

It's a sad state when they can make me empathize with a former assassin over a "law abiding" D.A.

Eh, I respectfully disagree. I think making her DA puts her in that 'Matt Murdock/ Daredevil' predicament where she is an official of the law during the day and at night she goes around breaking the law in order to help people. It creates an interesting moral conflict I think. What's going to happen when she starts showing up the office with black eyes and bruises?

I fail to see how Laurel replacing her addiction to alcohol and pills with an addiction to beating people up is a character arc.

Vigilante justice in regards to a woman beater is not an addiction to beating people up.

She refers to fighting as the only thing that can put out "the fire" in her, and that booze and pills couldn't do the job. Sounds like she switched to a new addiction to me.

Also as I have said before an anonymous phone call was more effective than her "vigilante justice".

Basically, what it'll take to impress me at this point,is the costume. If they get that right and go the whole nine yards with it (I.E. fishnets),I'll be satisfied.

Well, that and dropping the D.A./recovering drunk angle.

But I'm guessing they will attempt a more accurate costume to differentiate her from Sara.If only to say "See,we told you this was a good idea!Doesn't she look more like the real Canary?"

I can't imagine them putting her in fishnets. They'd lose a ton of credibility.

I dunno. The consensus was pretty much that Wonder Woman needed pants/battle skirt to have "credibility" in the movies, and she ended up getting a mini-skirt that was far closer to her classic look than anything.I'm willing to bet they do something closer to the comic look with BC.If not "fishnets" probably stockings of some sort, but they'll try to ape the comic more closely than they did with Sara.

But it's still a skirt at the end of the day. Personally, I thought they could've made the underwear work if they had really wanted to, but I have always preferred the skirt.

Wonder Woman also has the advantages of superpowers (she could fight crime naked if she wanted to) and not being Wonder Woman II (and therefore having her costume compared to Wonder Woman I). To go from Sara's costume to basically the exact same thing, but with fishnets, would be a step backwards (IMO).

I dunno. I guess we'll see. I can see them do a more prominent fishnet pattern, but I just don't think they could get away with putting her in tights.

As much as I love the fishnets I doubt they will do it. There's a reason Zatanna and Black Canary are the two most popular female DC heroines outside of Wonder Woman, though. Fishnets M***********!!!

They already sort of 'lampshaded' the fishnets, so I don't think they'll go that route, but we'll see.

I think pants wise they may be similar to Saras. But there is plenty to do to make it different.

And they could always go with this

It is sort of in the middle.

Or this

Im okay with the first one, minus the collar and maybe the yellow on her torso.

I cannot in anyway shape or form accept fishnets or the lack of pants on anyone. BC has no powers, if she fell on concrete in fishnets, she'd rip them and have a giant scrape and that's not even considering the problems she'd have fighting in them. On WW and Power Girl, I can sort of accept that they wouldn't have problems with normal criminals but I since they don't go up against normal criminals, they'd still have problems with having giant areas or skin exposed.
I wouldn't mind this. Here one can easily but that the fishnets are just diamond patterned chain-mail or something.

That outfit looks great above the waist. I could take or leave the collar, and the gloves could be better.

I think the costume will be based on new 52:csad::csad: with looks of body armour

I dont think they will go as far as armor. Ollie anf Roy don't have any. Just hoping for sleeveless.

I don't know about the fishnets, but she should definitely have yellow on her costume to be different from Sara's and also add the collar. I always thought Sara's need something to break up the black.

Maybe the mesh could be metallic to help protect from injury. I also like idea of the mesh as opposed to to solid black to help differentiate Laurel.

The problem now is believably making Laurel's BC as good as the original. Sara spent years being trained by highly trained assassins. Laurel is being trained by a local boxing coach. It's like apples and oranges. It's like someone with military special forces training, versus someone who is trained to be a mall security guard.

It's going to take the audience stretching it's imagination a bit, and being very forgiving.
