I still feel like the writers aren't quite sure how to handle Laurel. I like the general direction they're going, but I was annoyed that, yet again, they need to show Laurel's emotional state by having her screw things up and act unlikeable, even if it was only for a short period. I've said this many times before, but making a character more unlikeable to the audience does not equal breaking them down to a lower point emotionally. It was the big issue I had with her arc in Season 2.
And I feel bad for Cassidy because they've paired her with the worst acting partner on the show. The Wildcat guy just isn't very good. He's extremely stiff, and he delivers all his lines in an oddly rapid way, like he's rushing through them.
Hopefully they start picking up their game with her soon, because I've felt that Katie has been getting the short end of the stick with her material since season one.
