That is the most absurd defense of illegal arrest of a reporter yet. You just made that up on the spot, didn't you? I don't recall saying the police were racist for arresting a black reporter, but I did say it was illegal. Race might have been incidental but it does not change the arrest was illegal from the begininning. And you also responded with that weak defense while I was responding myself.

Your go to move is to claim CNN somehow set up this arrest but fail to go further than implying it was CNN's fault. As if the fact they are CNN is all that needs saying.

Okay, can you please explain then why you continue to suggest that the CNN reporters were somehow at fault for this clearly illegal arrest. You mention they weren't "clean" as if that somehow makes what happen their fault. How and why?

I'm not condoning what the cops did... But what they did was Aokay and I'm gonna repeatedly insinuate. that the reporter had it coming/was in the wrong somehow. All this despite it literally being caught on camera and the reporter calmly interacts with the police.

As I have been saying... What else won't they rationalize?

The Governor said it should have never happened and was inexcusable. He said they should be provided with spots so they can report the story, not treated in such a manner.

I asked why was CNN the only station that had a problem covering this. Instead of laughing you should answer that. On the today Show another reporter said the situation was chaotic and those cops just got there and were trying to get a hold of that area and couldn't tell everyone apart, dont know if thats true or not

Yeah. They aren't exactly burnishing their public image. I'm sure the PC, mayor, and governor are all freaking out. Look, I can understand the cops being on edge, but this was rather stupid in more ways than one.

Of course the police are on edge. Their attempt to gain control by gearing up in their soldier cosplay had no effect. And like most bullies, they are cowards at heart when they are stood up to. They abandoned 2 police precincts. The cops are afraid.

What position am I pushing exactly? Im curious because every other station is covering this the exact same and none of there reporters are getting arrested. So are you saying it was ok for CNN to be right there instead of back another 10 or 15 feet away safely? Is this nightcrawler or something?

You have a narrative that is strongly critical of CNN.

Again, reporters and journalists tend to get into the thick of things. This is not unique for CNN. It may be unique for CNN in this particular case, but journalists have found themselves in riots and war zones throughout the years. It's not exceptionally uncommon, and it could be argued as a good thing. Also, it's been what... 2 days? Your reasoning seems pretty thin to me for those reasons.


Is it okay? Well, I'm not at the site dude. I can't say if they made arrangements with people before hand, or how their camera guy was dressed, or what exactly was going on around them. It depends on the situation. I'll tell you that I'm certainly happy that CNN is there reporting it. That's their job, and its very important to have someone on the ground there right now. What is or is not 'Okay' is a judgement call. It's certainly legal. It's certainly valuable. So on the whole....yeah... I'm happy that they are there, and I have no reason to think they are purposely fabricating something to make Americans think its worse than it is. I understand your paranoid suspicion, but it's just a suspicion and nothing more.

let's face it, the only way a police officer is arrested and eventually convicted is if that officer commits the following crimes:

- Inappropriate relations with minors
- Drug/weapons or human trafficking
- Killing one's own spouse and/or child
- Embezzlement/fraud

Those crimes guarantee that a cop gets arrested and convicted. Shooting a black man does not guarantee a conviction.

I would suggest that the network has been a consistent target of Dear Leader, and that has made them the enemy for certain types of individuals. And many of those types of individuals - white supremacist Trump cultists - are police officers.
