Discussion concerning the closure of the Soul Glo thread

    LS I am very disappointed to hear that this thread has come to an end and about your possible resignation.

    I hope that the thread did not close without you giving the SHH administration your argument for the creation and existence of a thread to discuss African-American interest.

    Having such a thread doesn't pose a threat to the interest of other groups of people, it was merely a thread to discuss African-American issues and interests; nothing more, nothing less.

    Its my understanding that there have been questionable posts from members from time to time on the Soul glo thread, however that doesn't justify closing it down, just like questionable threads on the Hype doesn't justify shutting the Hype down.

    I know there is more to this than meets the eye but I know that an injustice has been committed here.

    It comes down to power and control and I'm sure Hype administration would tell any of us members to either abide by our rules or leave.

    Funny, we've heard that one since 1865.

    I don't agree with the closing at all. It should have remained open. It had its random moments of stupid commentary, but everything surrounding its dismissal was based on pointless principle.

    And on Thanksgiving Eve no less. I feel like the Native Americans being metaphorically raped.

    It was closed because I felt it had run its course.

    Raybia, I appreciate this effort, but really it's cool man. :up: It's not like the thread died early, it ran from May till now. You guys talk as if it was canned prematurely or something. Thread closures happen all the time, but nonetheless it was considered successful bro.

    The reason the other ethnic Lounges were deleted was people started doing Martian Lounges, etc. I believe Morg deleted them all and LS resurrected the Black one only.

    The legit ones should have stayed or a Multi-Cultural one should have been created.

    Again LS thanks for all your efforts. You are really a cool guy.

    This thread here will help the rest of us to vent a little since this came so all of a sudden. Kind of like a grief support group.

    But believe me, the Soul Glo thread will always be predecessor to what will come after it. I promise you that.

    WTF??? Bring back the Soul Glo thread [email protected]! That thread had it going great. The intentions of that thread were outlined very plainly.

    And LS is leaving? Nah. This can't be happening.

    If the thread was active and for the most part on topic, I don't see why it should have been closed. I never really posted in it but I did skim it from time to time and it seemed just fine to me. :)

    Why not create another Soul Glo thread?

    Remember how the "sexy women" thread got canned after about 5,000 pages???

    but someone else started a new one and it's still going.....

    So why not this one? Since LS thought his had run its course (and there was no other reason), someone else start theirs.

    Simple.
