Disney's Frozen - Part 3

Well, Adele Dazeem loved the new Muppets movie. :lmao:

Not much news today, everything dropped 25-35% today from yesterday, but Frozen is still up from last Wednesday, only +7.9% compared to the 49% and 43% on Monday and Tuesday.
The best news is Frozen has another great theater hold, it has 1660 theaters this coming week, only losing 86 theaters (-4.9%) from 1746.

how much is it projected to make this weekend?

That's a tough call. While it should get a small Oscar bump there is big direct competition opening in Peabody and Sherman which could open as high as 50 million. Right now I'd say anything over 3 million is excellent, with 3.5 as the likely ceiling.

Is it bad that I have listened to the Jimmy Fallon Let It Go like four or fives times?

I did not think so.

Peabody opens this weekend??

yeah, that's gonna be some direct competition. although, it will be interesting to see if that can even come close to Frozen's success.

and, yeah, another $3M would be great.

got to make it to $400M!! :woot:

I have watched it about 3-4 times and I'll watch it again when I get home. Idina was simply sublime in that performance.

The good news is Frozen doesn't seem to be overly affected by competition, and Peabody and Sherman is actually tracking for a low 30's opening.
The weekend The Lego Movie opened (Feb. 7, 69m) Frozen dropped just 23.1% from the previous weekend.
The weekend The Nut Job opened (Jan. 17, 19.4m) Frozen dropped just 20.1%.

Frozen needs a drop just under 20% to stay above 3m this weekend

we shall see!!

and Peabody doesn't look that great, either. looks like typical "crude" DreamWorks stuff.

I only caught a little bit of it on tv. is that the one where they're all sitting around and playing kids instruments while Idina's singing?

Someone pointed this out. Although I was actually thinking about it a few weeks ago, it slipped my mind.

Before Frozen came out it was expected to do somewhere around the last two Disney animated movies, Tangled ($200,821,936) and Wreck It Ralph ($189,422,889).
Tomorrow Frozen will pass the combined total of both ($390,244,825).

It's unbelievable that Frozen's domestic BO has crossed almost $400 million since its release date. I'm even surprised that people still want to watch in movie theaters despite its DVD's release is approaching around the corner.

They have released a sing-a-long version....wait until Spring Breaks start up next week...the kiddos will be wanting to go again. :yay:

Perfect performance and the Roots just make everything fun. Sadly, I did look at the comment section and YouTube proved again why it is the dreck of humanity. So many people apparently think Idina is a bad singer or that even Demi Lovato is better. Why do I feel like most of them are kids listening to Top 40 more than any would-be opera trainers upset about her breathing technique?

Just a hunch.

It will definitely cross $400 million and is already the second most successful movie of 2013 worldwide. If it could cross $410 in the U.S., it'd be second in that box office too. Sadly, I do not see that happening, the juice is just fading as spring thaws all. :)

There probably is some type of connection there.

and I just wanted it to at least match Tangled's $200M......lol

Yes it is.

I hate the fact that just because Idina was a little off in her Oscar performance (but still amazing), the people on the Internet were bashing her as a bad singer. I know there are some distractors of her singing style but some of their comments were simply ridiculous.

A capella group Straight No Chaser's cover of Let It Go:

Just in case anyone in here doesn't know and may have some points and is interested, there's a bus shelter sized poster on Disney Movie Rewards for 2,500 points. :)

I watched this last night and loved it! I wish Elsa had featured more, and that they had taken out the guardian snowman character. However, the songs were amazing and the relationship between the two sisters was perfect.

I still prefer Tangled (if we have to pin them against each other). I See The Light is a perfect Disney song.
