A Straight to streaming film, just feels cheaper to me, especially if its coming from a major studio like Disney.

Well the budget will definitely be lesser than their theatrical films, which is what the Disney+ function is to make cheaper films.

But Pinocchio definitely deserves a grand vision.

Lower budget or not. A film being screened in theaters worldwide is much more special than releasing it straight to a streaming site/app, where anyone could just watch it in a mobile phone or tablet.

This reminds me of when Disney used to release straight to DVD/Vhs sequels.

Darn I was hoping De Niro ... he's totally become Geppetto.

I do hope we get at least some Italians in the cast.

Probably be relegated to the villain roles in their own story; the Stromboli / Mangiafuoco role.

The Fox & Cat , although Deniro & Pesci as human versions the Fox & Cat would be pretty hysterical.

Who can genuinely at first conveys a sense of warmth and safety, someone the kids will totally want to trust and believe he's taking them to a wonderful place, then terrifyingly turns on them.
He'd (probably love going against type) and make a great Disney villain!

I feel like they might go younger for Gepetto. I mean, how old is Pinocchio? Like ten? So the average parent is probably 30-40 not in their sixties.

stromboli definitely feels like a Sacha baron Cohen job. Maybe the coachman would be someone less recognised. Of course the big role will be who will play the fairy?

The point for Gepetto was he was old and alone which is why he wished for a son. A young 30 year old wouldn’t make much sense when he probably could find himself a wife.
