DiCaprio: Mangiafuoco/Stromboli

QUOTE="Mondragon, post: 37697293, member: 83374"]Actually rethinking it with De Niro as Geppetto.

The con-men the Fox & Cat; Al Pacino(fox) & Joe Pesci(cat) would be great.

And bloated Leonardo DiCaprio as showman Stromboli Mangiafuoco give him the crazy mustache he steals this movie.

Who can genuinely at first conveys a sense of warmth and safety, someone the kids will totally want to trust and believe he's taking them to a wonderful place, then terrifyingly turns on them.
He'd (probably love going against type) and make a great Disney villain!
Still would have preferred ^

Gee it’s good to see Jonathan Gordon levitt getting that Disney money

I was today years old when I found out that Tom Hanks was going to be in this movie. Interesting cast.

I'm surprised they made him look exactly like the animated version and not take a few liberties. Though I guess you get those nostalgia points for people better that way.

Pinocchio is my favourite Disney Animated of old traditional Disney and so am looking forward to this with the cast & director involved.

Looks spot on to me. Can’t wait to see Monstro

Yeah. I guess this approach is kind of a “no duh” in hindsight, but I did expect something more like Beauty and the Beast where there are some liberties taken with the original character design.

The coachman definitely will look different- it’s Luke Evan and no pedo grandpa like in the animated version

release probably be the 30th/31th of some month in 2022…31th of August is a Wednesday

Edit: money is on 9th of September- D23 is held that weekend

Aw Jiminy looks so cute! Just hearing that music makes my heart swell

I'm confused about which of these cartoon to live-action remakes are going to theatres and which straight to Disney+. Obviously this is going straight to streaming, but Little Mermaid isn't? And Peter Pan has that been confirmed one way or another? Snow White?

Seems they think the old school ones aren't worth it theatrically when Dumbo underperformed.

The Little Mermaid and Snow White are going to be a theater releases and Peter Pan is a Disney+ to my understanding. Dumbo would definitely have fit better on Disney+ since the original isn’t the most loved when it comes to Disney classics. I’m still waiting for The Sword and the Stone!

looks fun.
Some people probably say: I’d rather pay another 15€ to see it in cinema, instead of having it included in my monthly Disney plus subscription…
