Get the important stuff right and I don’t think very many people will concern themselves with the theme (provided the new one isn’t awful on its own merits).

Now if tonally they go with something else where the Williams them doesn't fit then I see the need to hit use it. But if it fits tonally and what I've suggested they do with the character it would then I think it would be to their benefit to bring it back.

Love it or hate it, I think Zimmer’s theme is perfectly suited to Cavill’s Superman and a great piece of music in its own right. We never would’ve gotten it if he wasn’t allowed to create and explore.

I'm inclined to go in the "semi-reboot" direction myself - keep WW and (if it performs decently) Aquaman and, after they've had a sequel or two between them, start everything over from there. Downplay connectivity, keep references to the previous films to a vague minimum, hire new composers, give everybody new costumes and use villains that haven't been used yet. And even though I'd be hesitant myself, if it absolutely HAD to be done, recast across the board outside of Gadot and/or Mamoa, if for no other reason than to clean everything up fresh.

From there I'd start with giving the other established JL members their own standalones, too, if for no other reason than to skip the ceaseless origin stories and get moving, AND admittedly to get Superman back on track.

No. If nothing else, we'd lose Wonder Woman, and she's a hit with audiences. Who knows, Aquaman and Flash might also prove to have some popularity.

Obviously there are things that need fixing but I think that can be done without rebooting. That said I can see them pretty much sticking to solo movies from now on with maybe the occasional two-character crossover. But other than Affleck (and then only if it's true that he wants to go) there's no-one I'd call to be recast.

A semi-reboot would make the present DCEU mess an even bigger one. Just focus on individual movies for now, and Superman can maybe show up in cameos. JL proved Cavill can be very charming when he's allowed to be.

Why was Batman so murderous and stupid? Starro did it.
Why is Lex so manic and ridiculous? Starro did it. Or he's just a dysfunctional clone created by the real Lex. If you wanna keep Eisenberg but have him play a better version of Lex, Starro. If you wanna change actors, dysfunctional, disfigured clone.
Why was Superman so dour and disconnected and stupid in his decision making in present day and evil in the future? Starro.

You get the idea.

Come up with a non-magical way to make Batman younger without cloning, recast with Jake Gyllenhaal and go from there.

I like Cavill. I am willing to give Miller and Momoa another go. I am not sure what Cyborg's deal is though. But the actor seems fair enough to get another go. I guess they would do Flashpoint and use it as a way to recast Batman. But I actually won't mind them veering away from team up movies as well as Bat+Supes at this point. Keep seeding Supes in the other movies, just keep the audience informed that Superman is still around saving the day as usual, but nothing more sinister is going on. See how the other characters and movies are received. Let the tone of the character decide the tone of the story and the movie, at least for the first movie. Then, if things work out, try another JL movie and then see if Supes and Bats have been saved enough in the GA's eyes to go ahead with their respective solo movies.


Also, SS2 is NOT gonna make much money if it is anything like SS1. They are overestimating the popularity of Harley Quinn IMO.

Not if the interconnectivity is dropped in favor of standalone films/characters. If Batman isn't mentioned in Wonder Woman 2, it wouldn't matter if his own films are rebooted.

I am for a semi-reboot, like DOFP, but let Flashpoint do a proper setup for it. IMO Flashpoint should be the DCU's Back to the Future. Let it be Flash's story through and through, just with little touches of the great DC world. Like Back to the Future make it a personal story/journey for Barry to right what I see as a major wrong committed against him and his family. For example when I watched to the TV show, it starts with Future Barry fighting Reverse Flash and essentially creating a new timeline for him. In the movie (and maybe a two parter) have it end with a race against time and space and death-like between Barry, Zoom, and maybe even the Black Flash (death) throughout the timestream causing all types of ripples! And when we end there is a return to the original Flash timeline with his parents alive and well (why does Barry have to have a horrible tragedy to be a superhero?) but have an ending epilouge where he goes to see Bruce and he's the new rebooted Batman from Reeves new take and only Barry remembers the old time.

I'm not a fan of using sequels to fix the problems of their predecessors, and certainly not at this level (which is why I don't like the Flashpoint idea, either). It would also be so painfully obvious to the audience, like when BVS kept emphasizing that downtown Gotham was empty during the Doomsday fight.

Everything seems wrong about doing it now, the timing and the ideas that it may reboot the universe (although I highly doubt that).

From a story and character standpoint, I don't really see what rebooting would solve, and I find it to be a bit of a copout in some cases.

For instance, they could fix issues like Batman being a killer/plotting to kill Superman, Wonder Woman not being part of man's world for a long time...and Superman...not being positive enough...but I don't think those are really the major quality issues this franchise has, and I don't think rebooting to directly address them is the smart play.

They're already sort of rebooting Batman with Reeve's franchise, which will likely feature a younger Batman or some sort of prequel approach, but I'm okay with the idea that Batman has been around, seen some stuff, and has a "family" out there in the current DCEU.
