Quinto carries the Star Trek films, no offense to Pine.

Whoa, I totally missed what he said about Quinto. I think he'd make a great Strange, though I would argue that the combination of Pine and Quinto carries the ST films. I wouldn't say one is better than the other.

Yea agreed, I didn't even really like Quinto in the sequel. They did all this work about a man torn between 2 races, and then it was like the first movie didn't even happen. He was just simply a robot. Not necessarily his fault but still

I'd be overly thrilled with the choice of Joaquin Phoenix. Substantially more than Cumberbatch/Leto/Hardy/Mortenson. And a bit more than Mikkelson (a choice I thought very unique.

Phoenix with a stylized mustache (not goatee) and hard silver streaks on the side of his head would be a very fitting Strange. Would love to see his interactions with the rest of the Avengers.

That's not true nor fair. I like Quinto for Strange and I was one of the 1st persons I believe who said it on this site if i'm not mistaken. I was being honest from a studio standpoint. I'm just stating the obvious. All you have to do is look at Hollywood's track record. unless you can name me some films to prove me wrong. I'm talking about an actor who has come out and openly gay.

I also mentioned Luke Evans, even though he hasn't come out officially I've read where he said he was gay years ago and now he's retracted it or is mum on the subject and has a girlfriend when his career picked up.

Eh...I don't think Quinto would make a good Strange. He doesn't have the right facial structure for it. (gay or not doesn't matter either way)

Interesting. Not sure how I feel about the shoulder pads. It reminds me of MOS's Krypton, but the one without the shoulder pads looks like he's wearing a sleeping bag. I kind of hoped it would be more plain clothes.

Cary Grant was more likely bisexual than gay. And neither of them were open about their sexuality while movies were being made.

The issue isn't "is a man who likes men capable of being a compelling lead actor?" because the answer is obviously, emphatically yes. The issue is whether the studio is afraid that audiences (even in 2014, ugh) won't accept a gay man as an action hero, and whether that will hurt their bottom line.

Not sure, but I hope the DC rumors are true. I'm a big fan of his, but I don't think he's the best fit for Strange (though admittedly, I'm not the most knowledgeable person on the character). IMO though, he seems like a much better fit for Martian Manhunter or Brainiac.


Good Lord, please let him play Brainiac.

I've seen that here before. It showed up when cumby was the name in the rumor mill. Its definitely got cumby as the model, looks like good fan art though.
