i'd go takeshi kitano for the ancient.

violent cop/zatoichi as doctor strange mentor would be so cool.

He would be a great pick. I'm tired of seeing Chow Yun Fat, Ken Watanabe, Hiroyuki Sanada and James Hong playing every Asian guy over 40 in Hollywood films.

Takeshi Kitano deadpan style would be awesome for the ancient one although I'm not sure he is that interested in doing a western movie.

You are absolutely right all of those guys are very good but well played out on screen. Now that up and comer Jackie Chan .... I think that kid has a bright future ahead of him if someone will just give him a chance.

I'm still really into the idea of Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr Strange and Tom Hardy as Baron Mordo

I'm sure he's been suggested a million times.. but I wouldn't hate McConaughey as Dr Strange, I'd love to see him as a superhero

Cumberbatch is a good actor. I like him in Sherlock.

But i wish Marvel would/wouldve picked someone on the come up like Edgar Ramirez, somebody who hasnt done a huge action role like Jared Leto, or someone who needs a comeback like Adrien Brody

Cumberbatch isnt the worst choice. Just wish they got or were getting someone else

And maybe "obligations to Marvel" don't refer to the Strange project at all, but rather Daredevil, or even Peggy Carter. (Though I'd think network TV would be less likely. A Netflix show might be up his alley, though.)

Cumberbatch as Bullseye would be pretty neat casting IMO.

Odds are that Ramirez will play Mordo. And seeing Cumberbatch and Ramirez together will be magical.

I really don't want Cumberbatch for Strange. That said, I'm still really looking forward to a Dr. Strange movie, so I'd certainly give him a chance... But he's not near the top of the list of actors I'd like to see. He'd be an excellent Mordo however - maybe even Dormammu.

Cumberbatch is a fantastic actor and i can imagine him sounding awesome saying things like "By the eye of Agamotto!" He's got a great voice.

That said i liked the idea of Jake Gylenhaal and Jared Leto.

And that's the biggest issue with Cumberbatch. He's unconventionally attractive.

I.E. He's kinda weird looking, but attractive at the same time.

And that's kind of a bad fit for Strange, who's most often depicted with typical leading man good looks, as with most comic book heroes.

That said, Cumberbatch has enough talent where I believe most, myself included, will be able to look past it.

I will say this..... as with many others, he wasn't my first choice. In fact, Benicio Del Toro has been my first choice for a VERY long time. But Marvel, as they did with Djimon Hounsou and Idris Elba (whom should've been saved for a Black Panther film) cast him in another role, wasting an opportunity they had for another, better fitted, casting.
