. I don't see Cumberbatch having time for a contract obligated Doctor Strange movie(s) plus the Avengers.
I don't think that's a problem. sure, he will make fewer other movie in between that he would have made instead of playing Strange, there will be less time for some of the BBC miniseries he does now and then, but Sherlock does three episodes every 2 years. It isn't really that time consuming. between series 2 and 3 he did fifth estate, two hobbit movies, star trek into darkness, 12 years a slave as well as great stuff like parade's end or frankenstein. and that's just his bigger projects. he will be fine with playing strange every few month and keeping his Sherlock schedule

Not so sure. Each episode is basically like a movie in itself and so a series takes quite some time to film, hence the increasing difficulty in nailing the actors down for season 4, in relation to their increasing popularity/demand.

Hardy has like a billion projects in the works, and keeps dropping stuff to do other stuff because he's so overloaded. I don't see him getting himself contractually obligated to an ongoing film series unless he already did with Mad Max.

Same with Cumberbatch.

It's coming be patient
we have a director, a writer to rewrite the existing script, a release date, are close to a lead actor (who I guess will be annonced at SDCC), there is simply no reason why no Strange section exists right now

I don't see Hardy or Cumberbatch in the actual running at all; I think they're just named for more exposure on the casting for this movie.

Im pretty sure they dont just snap their fingers and it happens. Im sure they're working on it. Besides it's not like we dont have a place to discuss Dr. Strange in the meantime

I doubt (and hope) they wont be cast. Im sure they'd be pretty pricey too.

I agree with this. A Doctor Strange forum will happen but there needs to be time available and a few more pieces to this metaphorical puzzle to be shown and placed. Also, as much as I love Sherlock, I think that cumberbatch will have a very hard time shaking off the "He's Sherlock but with magic" reactions he would get with people not familiar with this character.

They'll put up the forum as soon as a release date is set and everything becomes just a little more official.

I really would love to see Adrien Brody cast as Doc Strange.

It won't happen but I have always thought Pierce Brosnan would be an inspired choice for the Sorcerer Supreme.

Me too, I think he has the right combination of factors that make him an interesting choice. However, I recently read that his ex-fiancé is Chris Hemsworth's wife. I don't know if those things make a difference but it could make for an awkward situation.

i am sure Marvel's already decided on the actor for Strange, but i think Christian Bale would have been a good choice.. he would be the 4th Chris :)

Also now that the darkknight trilogy is over and not part of the DCCU, i would love to have some of the characters come to the MCU like Bale, Hathaway, Hardy, Eckhart, Neeson, and maybe Freeman and Caine (through i dont know who they could play)

Hmm Batman as Doctor Strange. That would actually be weird, but interesting to see thinking about it. I know I'm probably in the minority, but when I was watching Batman Begins the other day, for some weird reason I thought Liam Neeson would have made an great Doctor Strange.

Liam neeson being picked as strange was about as common as billy zane being picked for luthor.

Dr.Strange played by matthew mcconaughey's and with his trademark southern dialect thrown in?.....I could get behind that idea.

the poll needs some mcconaughey magic

In all seriousness, what about Luke Evans as Dr.Strange?
