Yes, without having to resort to dyes and lenses. It doesn't look natural to me when you have to make extreme changes. The only exception for me would be Day-Lewis as he's hands down one of the greats of this generation and a pipe dream.

I don't see the big problem with it, even Depp has had different color hair in movies. As far as eye color, Marvel hasn't stayed true to the comics and most comics don't stay true to the original comics, as far as eye color's concerned.

A good make up artist is all that's needed.

I think we can cast a little more interestingly than these names. Come on people, lets dig deeper :P

sheen seems more interesting than ethan hawke. look at sheens work then you will see a character actor with alot of range.

but you like who you like, so i can't fault anyone for their choice, just that i choose sheen over any other.

Dude, we get it, you love Michael Sheen. I'm starting to think you're his publicist :P

Script has been handed in
Twitch has learned that Oppenheimer and Donnelly have now turned in their script and Marvel is pushing forward with the property. Marvel has drafted a short list of directors to approach on the title and is forwarding the current script to each to try and sign someone up to 'oversee continued development'.

Couple things, Marvel should change things up when it comes to telling an origin story and not be so formulaic and this needs a big name in the starring role. Lastly, this should have a winter release.

Winter release is exactly what I was thinking too, considering we could get this movie by 2013.

This movie doesn't even need an origin movie. Just play it like your usual "new companion" episode in Doctor Who.

Origins are great done right; Superman, Batman Begins, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, X-Men: First Class. It should definitely have the origin in there somewhere.

no you need to show his journey to becoming the Sorcerer Supreme. it could be a pretitle scene or longer but it needs to be shown, maybe not has long as the hulk but show his fall from grace as a doctor and his path to the Sorcerer Supreme.

I'm not a fan of overly long origin stories, except when they're needed.

Strange's "normal" life as a doctor and the car wreck are his origin story, technically, and you could wrap that **** up and tie a bow on it in less than 15 minutes.

What the movie *does* need is to spend a lot of time showing Strange learning the ropes. Magic --- at least this kind of "real" magic --- isn't something that's learned overnight. Or even in a lifetime.

I see alot of Johnny Depp fans, but I think Dr, Strange should be played by someone more masquline/mature looking (no "baby face") and/or tall
Let's see - Raymond Massey's out (original Shelock Holmes) - I'll take Daniel Day-Lewis

They are gonna go with someone young so they can build a series around

He's probably now established as Magneto, but I see no reason why he can't be two comic book characters...Michael Fassbender.

I'd like to see the origin, myself. Strange has one of the last great origin stories that hasn't been told yet. After that I can't really think of any I'm familiar with who have a really good one. Now care will obviosly need to be taken to keep it from feeling like the first half of Batman Begins. The whole 'journeys around the world in search of a goal that eventually leads to being a hero' thing is pretty similar for both of them. Granted the circumstances that send them on their individual journeys are different though.

Not sure who I think would be best for the part or the director though. But picking Johnny Depp has got to be the laziest casting choice possible, IMO.

I think the director who did The Illusionist(also did the very good Limitless this year) is a choice I'd give serious consideration to.

So the script got handed in........to....David Tennant, the new Doctor Strange?!?!?!?!?!

I wish :P

On to supporting characters, if he is the main villain for the first film, who for Dormammu? Who for Clea? Can't forget Wong too.

i hope they retain the vincent price look from the orignal comics. something like how howard stark looked in captain america, with the mustache and the slicked back hair, yet carrying a swagger and mystique, coming to think of it, the actor in captain america playing stark would've made a good strange lol.

Ideally I would want Viggo Mortensen for Dr. Strange, though I know they're going to go with a younger actor to start a franchise with. I don't think they should go too young though. Stephen Strange should be presented as an established doctor and thats why losing his hands is such a big deal for him.

Bottom of page aversion, sue me.
