Michael Sheen is a really nice suggestion. But I still think he's the one who looks more the part.

I'm aware it is a slight ethnicity change, but I've never really read Dr. Strange as being a pure white american guy. Plus, it'll bring some ethnicity into the line up. He'll also need to act alongside the rest of the MARVEL universe. Overall, I think Banderas can bring the most mysticism to the role.

This guy just never seemed to be anything but mixed ethnicity at the very least:

Here's my cast (click here to go to the page and comment on there if you want):
Seems like I can copy the pictures from the website over here. Click on the link above to go and see the pics yourself.
Patrick Dempsey as Doctor Strange (Stephen Strange)
Opinions are split down the middle as to whether or not Dempsey is qualified to play a role like Doctor Strange. However, I saw 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' (courtesy of a free ticket, so no money went to Michael Bay!), and noticed how almost parallel the personalities between Dylan Gould and Stephen Strange were. Sure, Dylan was an arrogant ******* the whole way, and the writers really bungled his ambitions (was he really gonna put the world at risk for his selfish needs, or was he held hostage by the Decepticons?), but the character was intelligent. Now Dempsey needs to take all that, and add redemption to the repertoire, and he would own the role as Strange. Like I said, he would be the Iron Man of the Midnight Sons movie universe.

Christian Bale as Baron Mordo (Karl Mordo)
Personally, I want to see Nolan's 'Batman' universe eventually become part of a DC movie universe, rather than be standalone. Even if the whole film is grounded in reality, it would've been great to see Christian Bale and Henry Cavill interact in either a 'World's Finest' or 'Justice League of America' movie. But if 'The Dark Knight Rises' is truly the last film of the franchise, I guess all good things must come to an end. And if Bale were to branch out towards other comic book movies, he would be perfect for Baron Mordo in a 'Doctor Strange' movie. Not only does he look the part judging by the collage below, but after 'The Prestige', he would nail all the evil characteristics of Mordo. I think he and Dempsey would make beautiful music together if given the right material. NOTE: I don't know if Mordo and Strange are the same age, so be easy on me if I neglected that aspect!

Gordon Liu as The Ancient One (Yan)
Haven't read much into the character, so I borrowed this one from in.truder.'s 'Doctor Strange' fancast. Pai Mei in 'Kill Bill Vol. 2' is very similar to Ancient One, except with knowledge of the artistry of the sorcerer. I think that should be fair enough.

Anna Torv as Clea
For the fans of 'Fringe', celebrate, because Olivia has finally made it onto a fancast! Unless you count Tankgirl's 'West Coast Avengers' fancast where she cast Torv as Julia Carpenter. However, I feel she's more suited for the role of Clea. She has a beautiful, deep voice that pretty much underlines Clea's intelligence. Clea's mother, Umar, will be passively mentioned, and we won't see that character until a sequel.

Jet Li as Wong
An undeniable force of martial arts moves and talent up the ying-yang (little nod to his role in 'The Expendables'), Jet Li is nothing but perfect for the role of Wong. As demonstrated in the aforementioned film (and 'Romeo Must Die'), he can offer dashes of humor while handling some of the dramatic themes. And let's not forget about the martial arts aspect that I mentioned, something I believe Wong has if the biographies I've read online are true.

Bridget Moynahan as Night Nurse (Linda Carter)
I was kinda iffy about throwing this character in, because I wanted to make sure there wasn't an overload of characters to focus on. But I read that in the comics, Wong took a wounded Doctor Strange (or vice-versa) to be healed by this certain character. So I threw her in, and cast Bridget Moynahan. Say what you want about her personal life, she's a terrific actress, and her role in 'I, Robot' among others is what made me cast her in this role. Even the best actresses make a slight character like this have presence.

Tim Curry as Dormammu
If I get any grief from this casting, then you all have no right to criticize. Tim Curry is, by far, one of the best genre actors of our time, as if 'The Rocky Horror. He even stole the show in 'Scary Movie 2' as the sex-obsessed college professor, and that film was a suckfest. But what really convinced me to cast him as Dormammu was his voice work as Emperor Doviculus in a video game called 'Brutal Legend'. It was very demonic and menacing, just the way Dormammu is meant to sound. I suggest you check out the cutscenes of the movie on YouTube so you can get a feel of what I'm saying.

Bruce Spence as Eternity
A shame no one gives this guy any recognition. Bruce was amazing as Zedd in the now-defunct 'Legend of the Seeker'. His wisdom in that show is just a perfect match for a character like Eternity, who appears near the end to help Doctor Strange prevent Dormammu from manifesting in the earthly dimension.

CAMEO
Michael Jai White as Blade (Eric Brooks)
At the end of the film, Doctor Strange runs into the vampire hunter Blade. Blade overhears about Strange's adventures, and the two discuss the potential of forming a team together. As I said in my previous cast, Michael Jai White's martial arts experience, epic voice, and almost-perfect height make him eligible for the Daywalker.
