Thanks! So is changing bodies something he does often?

I've posted this a few pages back and I'm thinking that this might help you in the numbering of the Doctors in the future:

Just noticing that chart really screws you over if you don't know about 10.2.

That's why the numbering anomalies are highlighted though, and that "regeneration", "life", "body" and "incarnation" are different variables from each other.

Wow...okay. I just started season two. I like the new doctor automatically because he's the same guy from Broadchurch, and I really liked him in that.

I'll be back with more questions later. :woot:

Omg. :lmao:

When a Time Lord is about to die, they can regenerate. Meaning, that they could change their body, and as well as their attitude, therefore extending their life.

Time Lords usually get 12 or 13 regenerations, but the Doctor was given another set/cycle. :bd

Enough time has passed. I am truly ready for Capaldi now. Reality is Smith has moved on and so must the show, and it has.

I want to see 12's costume. :argh:

But....I'm still not sure.....Who's on first? :woot:

My friend started watching Doctor Who for the first time. She just got to the Impossible Astronaut and sent me a text saying "WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON?!?" :hehe:

Interesting...thanks for the info! :yay:

In you are just catching up with the show the Matt Smith Doctor (number 11) was the last of of his original 13 lives (the 'War Doctor' and an aborted regeneration from the 10th used up 2 of them).

So Peter Capaldi is now the 1st life in a new cycle of 13 lives granted to him by the Time lords in the Christmas Episode (so it will be another 12 regenerations before they have to think of another 'get of jail free' way to keep it all going...Though that's gonna be over 30 years or so from now at least so nothing for us to be bothered about for a long time yet).

I would imagine they are not gonna change the numbering though. Capaldi I would think will be still be '12' and they just will continue counting on from there.

Heh, yeah. You gotta know the history of the show/character, watch the seasons and know the arcs. When I watch the show sometimes people ask me questions. I just think, "shock horror, a casual viewer who doesn't watch the show doesn't know what's going on." :funny:

The real Who fans 'get it' and love it.

I just started watching with season one and Eccleston. Now he is a new doctor. I don't think I've gotten to point you're talking about.

It is really confusing. :yay: I wasn't expecting him to just change bodies like that. Plus, I'm still really confused about Daleks...or how ever you spell that...lol. It's good fun, but I can't really say I'm understanding anything. :woot:

I'm glad to see a new fan :D

It's a good show. :yay:

Matt Smith's costume tests :funny:

I like this one. But it kinda looks like Tennant's.

Bow ties 5ever! ♥ ♥ ♥

Yup! That's how you spell it. :) So, yeah. What about the Daleks that confuse you? :o Maybe we could help. :D

Lol! You should tell her to start from at least Eccleston's run. :)

Of course they won't! It'll only chase casual viewers away if the did. Ain't nobody got time for pedantic ****.

Yup. I think changing that would cause confusion among the viewers. But if they ever do, it sounds logical enough because Capaldi is the first of the Doctor's new regeneration cycle.

I wonder what will be the explanation for the second regeneration 10 used if it wasn't considered an expended/used regeneration. I mean he was dying, and a regenerative energy was used, yes he kept his body and didn't change face but it still can't be considered a full regeneration?

Its not considered a new regeneration but moreso he still used energy from whatever pool the process draws from. It explains why a Time Lord wouldn't just lop their hand off and regenerate using that, because they'd still be draining their energy all the same.

Like how Eleven gave some of his to River in Angels Take Over Manhattan.

I just saw the Pyramids of Mars. Man do I just love that story. Looking into the next I'll watch.
