I promise this will be my last statement on the subject, then I'll fall in line with whatever the topic may be.

Compo: I see your point. that story was hilarious. I will be honest, and I mean this, I'm not that far yet. When I said I had my story I meant it. But I did say "overarching". I don't have the Who-know how to break down every episode. That I would leave to the very qualified writers. But I would give suggestions on certain episodes and themes for seasons.

I don't see it as obsessive. Honestly it's just how my mind works. When I like something, I want to think about it and write about it. It happened with my favorite DC hero, the comic book I now write, Power Rangers (still a great show) and now Doctor Who.

RetroNaz: You're not wrong, but not exactly right either. Yes, dreams do take hard work and dedication. That's why I do what I do. So that if, by some miracle, I get an audition, and they ask me "Why do you want to be the Doctor" I could honestly say, that I believe I would bring something different to the series. Then I would explain my storylines and arcs that I had in mind to show how much I had thought about this, and wasn't just some "random American fanboy" who decided one day he wanted to be the Doctor.

Oh, and I would travel with Donna, just saying.

Regwec: yes you would've. And I do talk Doctor Who here, and read all the comments. I don't mean to disrupt the flow of the conversation. Oh, an clearly I'm random American Fanboy #1,234,567.

Hyde: Who.....knows???

Again, I apologize, and will not bring it up again.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Doctor Who conversation.

Well in an effort to steer us mildly on track, current rumours (however BS they may be) are that: Jack the Ripper will be a villain in an episode (maybe the first? When are the Paternosters from?) New male companion (I think this was confirmed a while ago, anyway), The Doctor revisits Pompeii on volcano day and we see a familiar face, and the Master is the big villain with a new face.

I don't think these are true. When we first meet Vastra and Jenny in A Good Man Goes to War, Vastra mentions that she's just eaten Jack the Ripper. Secondly, why would the Doctor go back to Pompeii on Volcano Day? Why would he cross his own time stream, since there's a big chance he could bump into Ten and Donna. IDK just seems kinda fishy to me.

There have been "new Master" and "second companion" rumors for a while now, but I think they're all just wishful thinking.

Wouldn't that mean he'd cross his own timeline? Unless, he'd go before Ten and Donna goes.

The Master appearing. Hmmmmm. I don't know. I liked the way his story ended back in Series 4. I'm just not sure how they'd bring him back, or how to bring a new Master up.

Yeah, it's going to be QUITE a while before we see The Master again.

And I'd be really interested on how they'd bring him back.

He's the Master of all things. He's probably got about 20 contingency plans.

I miss the Master... what, it's been about four years since we've last seen him?

Yup. I'm sure we will see him again. He's appeared in every decade of Who except the 60s I think.

Today I went to Half Price Books and found K-9 the Complete series for next to nothing (for all I know, that's all it's worth) but I bought it anyway. I have the old one shot K-9 episode with Elizabeth Sladen back in the 70's, but haven't seen anything from this. Have any of you seen the series?

You'll have to let us know what it's like please C.
I still remember as a kid, there was this giant Doctor Who facts book which contained a cardboard "make it yourself" K9. The only problem was, the book was owned by my school and I couldn't find it in any shop.

I was heart broken I couldn't make my own little K9 lol.

He'll be the baddest partner in town.

Re: Rumours

I'd be happy to see the Master again. Since this Doctor is meant to have an abrasive personality, I'd be interested in seeing what kind of Master they decided to create to challenge and compliment him. I'd be hopeful for someone a little more cold, calculating and ruthless than Simm's Master, but an "evil" version of Tennant's Doctor might also be interesting.

And I'm very hopeful that they'll add a new male companion. On the one hand, it makes sense since Capaldi probably won't feel like doing quite as much running around, stunt work, etc as some of the more recent actors playing the Doctor. But, on the other hand, if they're introducing a "new" Doctor then they probably want time to establish his personality and introducing another new character may take some of the focus away from the Doctor. On thing is certain, the male companion must be of at least equal hotness to Clara. But the male companion should not have any grand "mystery" which needs unravelling like Clara, River Song and Amy all did!

A new male companion sounds pretty cool. I hope when they do introduce one, they still focus on the Doctor. They didn't lose that when they decided to make Rory as a companion too. It'd be nice if they'd do the same. Or at least something similar to that.

I dunno, he did a lot of running around in In The Loop. He strikes me as the kind of guy who would throw himself into it and not give a crap until it kills him.

He's said he's been trying to improve his fitness in preparation for the role and taking up more running.

Splendid GIFs here.

And I think Capaldi is more than capable of running about in scenes.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure he can run about. As long as his new kidneys don't get in the way. xD
