Don't you wanna be cool?

:oldrazz:
I take great pride in being a non-conformist. I'd much rather stand out for being original than by following everyone.

Yeah SpideyVille you'll be so popular.
But this is what I don't get. If anyone is doing it, does that make all of them popular? And if everyone is popular, doesn't that make the meaning of being popular lose its value?

So you're conforming to being like all the other non-conformists! :wow::oldrazz:

I hate that I woke up this morning and it seems everything I ****ing own is broken. My desktop PC won't boot up, my Wii U isn't working properly and my Xbox won't turn on. Why, God, WHY!
I recently had a week like that a while ago. My phone broke, my laptop crashed and won't turn on, and my computer speakers broke. Now I'm really worried that my PS3 or desktop will be next. The worst part is that I don't have money to get any of this fixed for a while.

Of course, that's why it is later bashed by the same people who said it would make you popular and tout a new it that's supposedly going to make you popular.

Maybe LOL

I also hate being told what to do, or being be forced into things, so that plays a big part too.

Yeah, like my friend got upset with me because I wouldn't be in his Harlem Shake video, but I told him I didn't want to do it because its already being played out. Stuff like that is popular for a few weeks but then people move on, and suddenly you look lame or like a copycat by trying to keep it alive.

I already plan to bash the Avengers right after the third one comes out just to be hip and cool at the time.:o

It worked for the TDK trilogy. :o

The Dark Knight is overrated.

Well it actually is, but a lot of that is because the fans hyped that **** up to be the knife that sliced the first piece of sliced bread.

But it changed stuff and thaaangs. :o

I wonder, had Ledger not died, how successful would that film be, and how would the sequel been affected.

It would have probably made a few million less and Lindsay Lohan and the Olsen twin would be tabloided as being in a feud over Heath.

This discussion reminds me: I hate overhyped things and I hate it even more when people slam anyone who doesn't like something that is popular (and overhyped).

And I also hate it when someone says, "_______ is the best movie of the year!" months before the damned thing even comes out. At least wait until you've seen it before you decide that it's better than anything else.

Yeah, this goes back to what I said about doing something just because everyone else is. Like the Walking Dead for instance. I don't care about anything related to zombies simply because of personal taste, but based on what everyone says about it, it seems like you're an outcast if you don't watch it. I'll probably watch it eventually, maybe once the series is over so I can catch every episode on Netflix, but for now, I don't plan on watching it and no amount of hype is going to get me excited for it.

You mean like the latest rumors of Man of Steel? I don't doubt it will be good, but the year just started and the movie hasn't come out yet, so I don't think its fair to hand it any awards just yet.

Ugh, this is starting to happen in the MOS boards. I just want to say "shut the hell up and wait for the damn movie," but then I don't want to be infracted.

For the record I think TDK and Ledger's performance are impressive with or without Ledger's death.

Today I helped a customer out with her groceries. I didn't chat with her, but she also wasn't talking to me. Halfway to her car, she out of nowhere asks if I'm having a bad day or if I'm always this mean.

Also, if I had a nickel for how many times some customer has glanced at me and told me to "cheer up".

Apparently my default neutral facial expression looks depressed and/or angry.

Also, just because I'm not a Chatty Cathy doesn't mean I'm mad or that I hate your guts.

Yeah, I think if you take his performance on its own and look at it, it was amazing. But its hard to argue that his death didn't contribute to some of the hype that surrounded TDK. It was being called his last movie role, and the one that pushed him to death. If anything, I'd say it drew more attention from the average movie goers, since the comic book fans were already blowing up since the first pics were released.

I had the exactly the same problem when I worked retail. A customer told me to "loosen up" apparently I gave off an air of being "too serious" about my job.

I love the "If you don't like working with customers, find a new line of work."

Which is exactly what I did.
