There is a special level of hell for people who dump animals on the freeway. I saw a kitten today, in between lanes, trying to dodge cars, scared out of its wits. By the time I realized what it was (ie, not a black plastic bag or a piece of tire rubber), it was far too late to stop and try to save it. Not without causing a giant accident, at least.

It was so sad, it was such a tiny kitten. I pray it was able to find its way to the right shoulder and that someone was able to stop and help it.

I had to give my kitty an extra big hug when I arrived home.

Just saw the cat on the freeway.

It's possible that the cat stowed away in a car engine and fell out, but IME they do it for warmth, and it's been 95F all week. My cat's been throwing up from heat and hairballs. It doesn't make sense that a cat would seek out a warm place in this weather.

I remember that my HS history teacher rescued a tiny puppy she found on the freeway shoulder. Puppies usually don't hide out in car engines; someone must have dumped it. It was really lucky, and a really sweet puppy.

The cat could've just walked on the freeway. I've seen cats, dogs, deer, wolves, coyotes, squirrels, turtles, alligators/crocs, bears, etc all cross on major highways before. I never once thought anybody purposely put them there. Especially the bears.

How? It was a tiny kitten and it was major 5-lane freeway, a mile from any ramps in any direction. There was a 20-ft brick wall on the closest side, and a concrete barrier with the freeway going the other direction on the other side.

I live in LA. There are none of those things on our major freeways. Only other vehicles. And I drive laaaate sometimes. I see no animals on the road, ever.

I take it a lot of those people are talking crap to you online. The majority of people who talk crap about someone's taste in film on a message board wouldn't have the balls to say it to someone's face. Being able to hide behind your computer has brought out a lot of trolls that constantly act like they have better taste in this or that over others, which I find incredibly laughable. I ignore garbage like that.

Kmart has me scheduled 16 hours a week for 3 weeks straight. That allows me to pay for absolutely nothing. No rent, no bills.

Also, they want me to cover maintenance for the porter's week vacation.

Yup. Computer training for my new job next week can't come soon enough. I refuse to clean up after "people" who are too mentally deficient to go in the toilet instead of like animals on the floor.
