I was wandering around the site one day and found some ancient threads that went on for over 400 pages.

But as I understand it, huge threads cause database problems for vBulletin and some of the other forum programs so they have to be restricted to a certain number of posts/pages. A friend who took over maintenance of a large vBulletin site called the program a filthy beast that deserved to be put out of its misery. After dealing with it as an administrator for just a few days I tended to agree with her.

i understand why the threads are lower, the site doesn't lag as much and all, but i'd just like it if it was 2500 or something

i'd rather have 4 2500 post threads than 10 1000 thread ones. i'm just very e-tidy

I hate when a poster mentions how they know this or that because they took a film or literature class. Congratu-****ing-lations, but that doesn't make you special or smarter than most people. A lot of people have taken those kinds of classes.

I don't necessarily hate it, but I do find it odd how serious people take Facebook. I drop in and out of Facebook groups all the time, and just the other day, a few people got ridiculously pissed that I left, and sent me some pretty funny PMs. If I get bored with a group, I'll just leave. I don't need constant notifications about something I'm not interested in anymore. I guess people take it as an insult?

I barely use facebook as it is. I mostly use it to talk to my sister in Alberta and to see what other people are doing. I also only have around 15 people on my friends list.
