Problem is that many of these terrorists have infiltrated into Europe and other Middle East countries and can't easily be taken out in one swell swoop.

Which is what they want. Create mistrust within the ranks.

They're fairly confident. This was apparently something they (ISIS, and other Muslim radicals in Europe) had been talking about for some time. The fact that the driver was heavily armed, and had explosives seems to suggest it wasn't just a driver who had a bad day. Also the fact that it occurred on Bastille Day makes it even more likely.

The driver was of Middle Eastern extraction.

Local paper in Nice is reporting the drive was a 31-year old man originally from Tunisia who's been living in Nice for an unknown amount of time.

Damming as hell, then. Seems like violence is the only language they speak - but there's not much dialogue to be had with someone that's hellbent on killing themselves.

This homegrown Islamic terrorism is terrifying. It's one thing if someone comes in from war-torn Syria, another if they live in France or Belgium for all or most of their lives, and then just go off like a sleeper agent or something.

I don't know how you just arrest and hold people for being related to other people. With no evidence of criminal activity. Unless you are going to lie like Guantanamo Bay.
