And yet, it may lead to us having the FF back in MCU. The bring back the FF thread is one of my favorites. Soooooo many cool villains. Doom, Kang, Galactus, etc.

Third greatest rogues gallery in comics overall and the greatest villain of them all in Doom.

I would love for Marvel to get their hands on Doom while RDJ can still play Tony Stark.

Darn you FOX! GIVE the rights back already.

Methinks I've opened the lid of Pandora's box.....I'm always glad to see the enthusiasm to get the FF back. They were my FAVORITE group (even more than The Avengers) and I have a ton of their comics from the 60s.

My favorites are on my website in case anyone is interested. Two of my favorite storylines were Daredevil/Doom (A Blind Man Shall Lead Them) and intro of The Inhumans (I'd give Lockjaw the best dog food ever).

So it should come in at around $65m w/o Sunday's amount added. Then it only needs to keep a $20m Sunday to match Thor2's OW. I think it'll do a tad better than that. Ending OW total should be between $85-90m. I also expect better legs for this than Thor2. I'd be surprised if this didn't do at least TWS DOM numbers($250-260m). Maybe $500m or so OS for the general ball park that Deadpool & Suicide Squad got to this year($750M WW give or take $50m). Of course there's an outside chance this could overperform even that and maybe give BvS a run for it's money, but that's a small outside chance. I'd love it if it happened though. This already pretty much guarantees X-Men: Apocalypse ends up as the lowest grosser of the year for Marvel/DC superhero movies. But at least it still beat TMNT2.

Veteran's day fell on TTDW's first Monday so it probably helped soften the Saturday/Sunday drop. I'm afraid that despite an obviously stronger WOM, that shows in a better than expected Saturday bump from Friday numbers (minus previews), DS will display a steeper drop on Sunday.
Matching TTDW ow would still be an amazing achievement and maybe I'm being overly cautious but I think that's where it's gonna land.

Ant-Man made 105 mil in China, this thing could cross 125-130. Marvel has really done a good job with Chinese audiences, they can't get enough of the MCU.

Update Sunday 7:34 AM: Refresh for updates It’s still early and we’re waiting for everyone to report, however, rivals have Disney’s Doctor Strange between $84.2M-$85.2M at 3,882 theaters, which is definitely on the strong side for early November openers and just below Disney/Marvel’s previous post-summer superhero Thor: The Dark World ($85.7M). Doctor Strange also gave Disney it’s second best opening for November. As is typical with Marvel films, fanboys show up on Thursday and Friday, and so we typically see a dip in Saturday and Sunday receipts, and in the case of Doctor Strange ticket sales eased an estimated -4% for $31.3M yesterday.

DS number: 85/121 (F/S), if Sat-Sun drop is -22.7% like Ant-Man then tomorrow number will be 93.6, enough for OW to be ¥300M ($44.4M)

Ant-Man's multiplier is 2.46. If DS also has this multiplier (with 300M OW) then total number will be ¥738M (about $109M).

I don't doubt that, but it scares me for Marvel. Feige is the biggest reason for MCU's success and losing him as its "show runner" will be a massive blow. I hope he has groomed a successor because I don't want Marvel to end up like an exec clown show like DC or Fox.

Interesting. I didn't remember this fact. That being said, we could see a relatively good hold next weekend because V day falls on a Friday. Do you think it would have been better in the long run if it had the same V day as TDW or wouldn't that really matter? In other words, would it have a better box office run if the 1st weekend was front loaded rather than having (probably) a lesser drop on the 2nd weekend?

My feeling is that it better get all it can in the first 2 weeks because on week 3 Fantastic Beasts debuts and DS is gonna take a big hit. Wish we had 1 more week without that kind of competition.
