I've never dressed up at midnight showings before. Do people tend to give you crap about it or respect you?
I guess it depends on where you live but I've gone to midnight showings at the Ziegfield and other big theaters in NYC for star wars, LOTR, Hellboy etc and you get major props. There's always chicks there who love that geek stuff too and you'll get a lot of attention... people taking pictures, asking where you got your suit etc
but keep in mind this is New York City you have to make sure you look TIGHT or you'll look like an ******* next to the guy who built himself and his son working lightsabers from neon tubes or the dude who custom cast his own batsuit or the group of guys decked out and speaking klingon to each other...
I dont know how you guys in the suburbs do it but it's about the most perfect setting to watch these types of movies. It's like going to a ballgame... everyone is really into it, the atmosphere is electric, everyone laughs and claps at the right places. No one even thinks of making a noise or ruining the movie.
