So amidst all this domestic gloom and doom *tongue firmly in cheek*, how is foreign shaping up? What are you guys predicting for final foreign totals?

Stayed flat with Discount Tuesday. It will probably drop to $10 million tomorrow.

I was thinking it'd drop to $12 million but yeah, $10-$12 million is were it should ultimately fall in between. Not bad, though.

It's not making 12 million, no film drops that low Tuesday to Wednesday unless Wednesday is a holiday or something. 9 to 10 million at best is what we should be expecting.

I'm going to say 10, it seems like it's been running about 2M ahead of IM3 for the weekdays so far.

Not sure about just OS but it should be firmly between $850-900m WW after this weekend. Possibly even a bit past $900m.

A list from the Overseas markets O.W. numbers that boxofficemojo.com has listed so far. Not many of them available yet but the numbers indicate a small increase.

(in brackets the TA1 numbers to compare)

Australia - 12,965 mil (13,923)
Austria - 0,891 mil (0,679)
Belgium - 0,965 mil (1,271)
Bulgaria - 0,195 mil (0,232)
Finland - 0,425 mil (0,432)
France - 12,467 mil (19,035)
Hong Kong - 6,391 mil (4,352)
Iceland - 0,100 mil (0,139)
Italy - 7,750 mil (6,372)
Malaysia - 5,840 mil (3,302)
Netherlands - 1,413 mil (1,493)
New Zealand - 2,045 mil (1,677)
Russia - 16,043 mil (14,955)
Singapore - 3,728 mil (3,442)
South Africa - 1,021 mil (1,307)
South Korea - 23,061 mil (10,793)
Ukraine - 0,680 mil (0,865)
GB/UK - 27,368 mil (25,670)
----------------------------------
123,2 mil (109,8) total

Looks like France is the biggest straggler when it comes to this one being able to pass the 1st one's gross.

$9 million is what it is...wonder what the overall weekend numbers will be.

Well TDK will remain #2 for opening weeks. It's following IM3 more than anything so today's # should be around $8.9m or so which will give it a $235m opening week and that's good for the #3 spot. Should be at $320m or so DOM after the weekend, give or take $5m. $500m is gone, most likely. Looks to finish in the $450m range, give or take $25m. So at least $150m less than the last movie. I think that's a new record it could have. I think the 3rd Matrix movie holds that record currently in sheer amount of $ less a movie made than the previous installment with around a $140m drop off from Reloaded. I'll keep watching to see how it ends up.

9,4 mil for Wednesday for a 227 mil total.

If it gets 9 mil on Thursday it will go with 238 on the 2nd weekend

Lets hope for a strong weekend. Looking for miracle for the 500mil milestone.

We ll pretty much know if or how close it will end up to 500 mil after the 3-day numbers are in. Just dont trust the estimates like the 1st weekend which were short 3,5 mil.

Even with 440-480 mil though it will beat the originals WW record (1,52 bil)

Is Furious 7 likely to beat Avengers for the number 3 spot on the all time list?

And is Age of Ultron even likely to overtake Avengers? Or is that less possible now?

And what about Star Wars? Will that take the number 1 spot from Avatar? I think Star Wars is likely to do better than Age of Ultron.

Also, did anyone foresee Furious 7 doing so well? It's even overtaken Harry Potter and Frozen.

Sounds like whatever AoU loses in domestic box office, the international grosses will make for it.

I can't believe what Furious 7 is doing overseas. I mean its good and all but......1.5 billion good world wide?

US: $332m so far
China: $337m so far

Yep It has made more in China than the US.

Fast 6 only did $66m in China.

It's going to be close but I'd say it still comes up short by maybe $20m or so. But when things get that close who can really say. But there are no locks here yet, either way.

It will still more than likely beat the first film WW. China and Japan will see to that.

And what about Star Wars? Will that take the number 1 spot from Avatar?

No chance in hell. Unlikely to get even within a billion $ of Avatar.

I think Star Wars is likely to do better than Age of Ultron.

Possible but my money's still firmly on AoU as the likely winner DOM and WW of 2015. I'd say SW7 fights it out with F7 WW for the #2 spot and fights it out with THG4/MJ2 for the #2 spot DOM.

Also, did anyone foresee Furious 7 doing so well? It's even overtaken Harry Potter and Frozen.

Nobody saw it being that big. Plenty thought it had a shot at the billion $ club but not going $400-500m beyond that. That's a huge surprise.

Yeah, since when did the F&F franchise become so big over there? It's a mystery. Were parts of the movie set in China or something or did they have some Chinese actors? Or is it the director who they are keen on?

Which is why nobody should bet against what Avatar 2 could make.

It'll probably bring in 500 million from China alone.

Either way the domestic drop from A1 to AoU is going to be quite noticeable.

^The drop for Avatar2 domestic will be even more noticeable. Count on it. I think when you break $500m DOM that's such a rarified air that any sequel can't help but fall below that. TDKR fell, AoU is falling and Avatar sequels will also fall, mark my word.

I also think with Avatar, it's WW gross was also kinda like that rarified air thing. I would be surprised if it managed to get anywhere near the 1st film's success overseas.

Looking forward to this weekend figure and the overseas update ahead of China.

337? Furious 7's gross in China is closer to 400m. $380m via boxoffice.com

There were no scenes in China in Furious 7. You better believe Fast 8 will though.

Oh, I do. Well James Wan IS of Chinese decent, though nationality-wise he's Australian. And while Justin Lin who did the last 2 F&F films is also Chinese, he's Taiwanese Chinese and I don't know what kind of reaction mainland Chinese people have to them(I've heard the two are not friendly, though). That's about the best I can guess unless Paul Walker was some underground movie star god in China and nobody even knew about it.
