Yup. Which is amazing considering that if you peel out the Thursday previews, it did $190 million FSS last time around. Crazy to get that strong a hold on a movie that's already sold so many tix.

Can I just say again that I love this film's success? Before I amusingly was thinking about the delusional JJ Abrams haters (if you dislike him as a filmmaker fine, I'm talking about idiots who deny his success because they dislike his films) gnashing their teeth and today I am thinking about the bored pathetic evil racists and misogynists who constantly droned on about how this film was going to disappoint because it's starring "a girl and a black guy." The truth always was is that nobody cared about the gender or race of the protagonists, they just wanted to see a good Star Wars movie. I could have hated the film and I would have wished it success just to shut those pathetic losers up. **** those people and the Max Landis horse they rode on.

I realize that it is a minority of idiots on twitter and IMDB, I know I shouldn't pay attention to them but I do. The ugliness bothered the hell out of me. I was satisfied that the naked soulless rights grab that was the Fantastic Four flopped but what bothered me about that failure is that some morons blamed it on "the black guy" and not on the fact that according to critics and audiences the film was a racid pile of crap. I didn't want to see that wrong headed ugliness again.

By the way Creed is going to make over a 100 million because it's well... a good movie.

Yeah, the film is going to be number one for a while. So it's going to past Age of Ultron today and next up will be Jurassic World.

Everything went perfectly for Star Wars. The marketing, the reviews, word of mouth and the box office. Disney was the perfect company to continue Star Wars.

I think you can go further. Kathleen Kennedy is the perfect choice for succeeding Lucas as head of LFL. She knew JJ was the perfect choice to revitalize Star Wars. I am really, really excited for the rest of the Star Wars films, just because she seems to be making great choices.

I abandoned ship when the reviews became clear. Still really curious about seeing it, but that forum, even before the reviews, wasn't a good place for me to post.

Titanic numbers are pretty much a mathematical certainty at this point. They really are.

So it's possible that TFA could gross more in its SECOND weekend DOMESTICALLY than FF grossed in its entire run WORLDWIDE. This pleases me greatly.

Haha, so we'd be on about $550m after the weekend if this holds. And a 3rd weekend of $100m along with weekdays would mean a shot at taking out Avatar by then (and not too far off otherwise) and with so much gas left in the tank!

I would have been happy with half of the success it's getting.

The 10 year old in me that first saw Star Wars back in '77 is SOOOO pleased that the biggest blockbuster of 2015 was a very well received Star Wars film.

If this weekend and the 3rd weekend predictions hold up, Avatar dom will be in play by Jan 3rd. It's not a long way to $1B from there with that kind of momentum and the lack of summer-level competition.

Thank Goodness. Titanic while visually stunning, is the most insipid story.

In comparison to Jurassic World, which I know is Summer release vs. Holiday release, it made half it's gross by it's 8th day and then doubled it against Summer competition.

So I can't even wrap my head around Star Wars doing the same thing because that would mean $880 million.

I loved Creed, another 7th episode/ reboot that hit all the right notes and left you wanting to see more.
