Elfman is Working on the Music

Brilliant news.

As much as I loved Young's work on Spider-Man 2 - and it appears he did quite a lot - I was always worried about the third film not having Elfman associated with it. His music is so unique and hard to emulate that I was concerned that the music would add a new feel to Spidey 3 which would break continuity.

This news is great too for that fact that it must mean Raimi and Elfman got over their differences and must have reconciled after the fall-out over the second film.

Young and Elfman working together should add another reason as to why this movie is going to be well worth the wait.

Yeah, it's good to know that Elfman and Raimi were able to put aside their differences for the good of the film.

money.

so....ummm.....what exactly was the fallout between Elfman and Raimi during Spiderman 2?

I, too, hope Elfman comes back for Spidey 3.......

Whoa! That's awesome. I've heard the track plenty of times because it's on the soundtrack, but never with the footage. It works great, too bad they ditched it!

I know! Young's score was good but too repetitive.

Yeah, it sounded like he was trying to emulate a western or something.

I'm so glad Elfman is back. His themes have been carved into the Spider-man mythos. They're needed for continuity's sake. His villian themes were awesome. I can't wait to hear what he does with Venom and Sandman.

Yes, I'm sure they are both happy to get paid for working on the movie. That's a given. But I'm pretty sure they are both fans of the SM movies so far, and know it is in the best interest of the films to have Danny back for SM3.

it's great news that Danny Elfman's back. he is a very good composer. i loved what he did on spiderman 1 & 2 even though Young did most of spiderman 2, but his music is great, though i wouldn't say that its 'better' than anyone elses because each composer has their own unique style, so you can't really compare that, but his uniqueness(sp) and style that make his scores matches the spiderman movies and no other composer would match it like he does so im very happy he's back on spiderman 3.

I'm going to see if I can get Elfman and Raimi to fight again. I'm going to write cruel letters to each of their agents in c/o the composer/director, and sign their names on them, it's my only hope. I think I can stop this day from coming.

I agree with whoever said that they've been friends for like 16 years and that their big argument over SM2 wouldn't be enough to break their companionship. Sure, Elfman is getting a big payoff, that's a given. But if he didn't want to come back to help Raimi and Young out, then he wouldn't have. He's a pretty stubborn guy and definitely only does what he wants to do. Look at the Boingo fans, they've been begging him to come back for 15 years and he won't do one stupid show...
