Episode 04 Discussion - "Collision" | October 16

And if Syler gets that ability from her.....that would be bad.

One thing I don't get is why they have to "protect the cheerleader, save the world." She cant be hurt, unless I guess if someone stabbed her and left the knife in.

I believe that "Protect the cheerleader, save the world" means more than it's saying. Physically, she can take care of herself. With what we've seen of Claire so far, my guess is that the heroes need to protect her from going over to the "dark side" and becoming evil.

IF his power is that he steals other people's powers, that is.

and you should know Claire(ie Hayden) is only 16/17 in real life. Don't think the network wants to be hig with child porn charges :p

yeah well...my point was that the sfx make-up was really lame...and not that I wanted to see anything...so its a bogus call on the makers of the show to even attempt an open chest cavity autopsy moment, especially looking as fake as it did...just to show us on a larger scale how powerful she is...lying on the table (covered, mind you) and pulling the sharp stick out of her neck would have been more than enough to explain that a wound or injury that borders decapitation or some kind of damage or obstruction of proper blood flow to the brain is dangerous even to her. But you can't argue that it was scientifically innaccurate...as well as legally.

Yeah. I'm so not reading all this now. I did get to finally watch the episode though.

Some notes:

The bum that brushes into Suresh at the beginning was mumbling something that sounded important. I just can't remember what it was.

Future Hiro, as everyone else has been agreeing is bad ass.

Claire has become interesting.

Isaac shows more promise.

Peter looks different without his bad ass scar. :)

Matt, still sucks to be him.

Nikki's kid showing more potential.

Though the show still has a very big potential to end up like Carnivale for me.

Other notes. Nikki multiple personalities revealed. My thoughts are there is a strong possibility she doesn't have any powers.

Man I'm tired.

Yeah - that seems to be Peter's gig. Someone suggested Sylar has a grabbag of other people's powers because he's Subject Zero. Makes sense to me.

And Chris Wallace - what happened with Iron Man that made you change your sig from 'Tony Stark is a *****e' to 'Tony Stark is the ultimate *****e'?

I think in Nikki's case. It is Sylar that is taking over her body. I believe that the kid is her's & Sylar's kid. Just a theory.

Where does that idea come from? Seriously?

Nikki's kid is hers and that black dude from Buffy's - the guy who can phase out of his prison cell, who we haven't met yet.

I was kinda hoping that Nikkis husband was the black dude that was in the bar and in the lab that was ****ing with Matt. That would be kind of a good twist, instead of the one that they're planning on doing now

I think claires dad and the bald black guy are like SHIELD there good people overall but use questionable methods to get the job done. And sylar is an entirley seperate entity from them imo. There may also be third villian because it seems like whoever was chasing claire could manipulate there size or image in some way. As for the cop im sure they just erased his memory and sent him on his way.

I find myself agreeing, and not just because you get extra cool points for referencing The Shield (awesome show). I'm pretty interested to see where those two guys who with this.

by the way....who's to say the "cheerleader" they speak of is claire? perhaphs theres gonna be something going on with one of the other cheerleader chicks....like that one that took credit for saving that dude from the fire.

If there is more than one Cheerleader with powers than I will be upset - that would be getting too much IMO. Also, if you put Hiro's message with Issac's Paintings you got Claire = Cheerleader.

lol. I think he's referring to S.H.I.E.L.D. of the Marvel Comics variety ;)

...could be mistaken though...

Just changed my mind about Hiro. Now I like him.

well, the cheerleader they have to save doesnt necessarily have to have powers....either way, this show seems to have lots of surprises....im just trying to think outside the box, and throw it out there. (by the way, im sure the cheerleader in question is in fact claire, just saying....)

you can always tell the quality of a tv show by your reaction to the end and my reaction to the end of heroes is AWWW MANNN!!!!

best show on tv.

loved the spidey reference but answer me one thing

peter parker taking pictures of himself fighting crime (i.e. using his powers)and selling the photos = not cheating

hiro stopping time (i.e. using his powers) getting up and changing one guys set of cards for another guys set of cards = not cheating

o-kay...

yeah, I was expecting him to look at other people's cards and then tell his friend whether he should play the hand or fold

Actually that would get them caught by the security cameras. By switching the cards he was able to stop everything from actually seeing him switch the cards.

Although its strange though his time stop has to have some hole into it. Is he freezing all time, like is the whole world stopping? Or is he creating a vortex time collapse around him to be able to do what he needs to do long enough.

Similar case is in X-2 when professor X froze everyone to get his students out of the situation that was caused by pyro. Even with everyone froze the t.v. was still going on behind them.

It does seem though that his powers definetly develop though because at the end when he freezes the subway to confront peter it was almost like someone turned the light off just.

whew the show gots me hyped again, IM BACK ON THE BOARDS! *lol*

maybe Hiro should have been the one to play poker, then he could freeze time, get up and look at the other player's cards, then decide whether to raise, fold, etc

Amusingly enough, what he said of The Shield (good people using questionable means) still applies to The Shield perfectly. So I could still be right. Watch it, it's a flat-out fantastic show about police officers using corrupt means to lower crime rates.

I could definitely see Mr Bennet thinking he's doing it all for the greater good.
