Dang it shoulda been Monica Rambeau. SMDH.

Speaking of Monica Rambeau being "The Storm of the Avengers," if it ever gets that far, I'd love to see Rambeau taking Ororo's place in the Black Panther mythos.

Any well-rounded woman can take Storm's place.

I've got an interesting way to tinker her origins a bit from the comics.

I haven't seen every Denzel movie but everyone I have seen he's never used an accent. Even though the character he's played live in distinctive places where accents are prevelant. I don't think that takes away from his acting skills it just means he stays in his lane. I've never seen Mathew Mcconahey not use his accent and he's an oscar winner. Does that mean he should play he could drop his accent to play Matt Murdock a New York lawyer.

In my previous post I've given you an example of Denzel using an accent. He was playing an African man, BTW.

I never said that black people dont read comics or show up to their movies. However a majority of people who see them don't read the books. Nor have I said they should target a BP movie towards black people.

Okay. I don't get what you were going for with the "blacks haven't embraced comics" thing, then.

Like my uncle told me when I was buying books as a kid. How many of them look like you? Maybe my uncle was more pro black than most but that is a sentiment I have heard from other poc who like the genre. There is a video on YouTube of a black comic book artist who has similar story. That gave him the inspiration to create his own because he didn't feel represented.

You're preaching to the choir, lol. Like the Dwayne McDuffie quote in my signature says it doesn't make sense to wait for someone else to tell your stories. I'm working on a comic myself: https://www.facebook.com/pages/MYTH-SMITH-comic-book/731161003585134

I don't care what BW was before Avengers. She fit into the story they were telling. The point is if your that valuable to the company they will find a way to fit you in. Even if that character doesn't really fit into the dynamic of the team or story.

Well I've said many times before in this thread that I'll believe they are making a Black Panther movie when I see it. I'd definitely like them to do it but I'm not holding my breath.

I looked that up on YouTube and he did do an accent. It was ok but some actors become the character like Gary Oldman and some people you see that actor playing a part. Denzel is a fine actor but at this stage in his career all you really see is him.

I don't have any numbers to support this but from my own life experience. Where I was the only person of color I knew who read comics from the time I was in grade school to highschool. When I got into highschool there was an Hispanic kid who introduced me to spawn. There was a brief time where comic cards became popular in the early 90's where I was actually able to talk about it with someone else.

I'm have to check that out, I can't draw well enough to make a comic book. But I do digital art and I was close to making a book out of cgi.

Yeah I'm with you on that

It wouldn't suprise me if they get a one word mention about wakanda but I'll need convincing if I believe marvel has any plan for black panther beyond that at all

If they're going to reference wakanda, I should expect a news about the crew going back to re-shoots some scenes in africa or will they do it on a full scale CGI?

IF they actually are going to show Wakanda it will likely be a mix of A) South African soundstage shoots we wouldn't hear about and B) South African outback shoots we wouldn't hear about. They may have already happened, y'know? Or they may never happen.

The shooting of Avengers 2 in South Africa was all second unit.

The second unit shooting in South Africa leads me to doubt Devin Faraci when he says that Wakanda is in Avengers 2.

I do think though that there is some truth to what he says about Carol Danvers.

If they ever have Ross and/or a Black Panther movie we need him to have him introduced with this song.

And at the end of the movie he needs to be played off with this...

The post credits scene could be Ross, Falcon, and Cap jammin' out to Trouble Man.

I would imagine it would just be a room somewhere away from any press leaks. Probably not even that, just something of a throwaway line like "reports are coming in from seoul, london, Moscow, wakanda, Beijing that blah blah blah"

It's possible BUT Adamantium is not available in the MCU so the most logical replacement is the Vibranium and there's gotta be a way that they show how ultron built his body armor and where he gets it, based on what?

Probably already posted and talked about, but just in case.

Lupita Nyong'o as Shuri

I'd have Monica Rambeau in the MCU get her powers via Loki's sceptre.

Meh, bit boring. I like the idea of alien interference

I don't really tend to think of it as alien though and by alien interference I mean something a bit more direct. The sceptre has become a bit of a magic wand to be honest and I was kind of a little bit disappointed when I saw it in winter soldier because I felt thematically it's story was told, at least for a while

She's Probably the closest thing to an A list female that marvel has that isn't attached to the X-Men franchise.

Based on what? She never had on on-going book until a few years back and that was after her big screen debut. The book was quickly canceled.

The problem with Shuri is that she could be a one off character. I want Lupita in the MCU, but not as a one off character. I want her to appear in multiple movies. While I don't see her as the right fit for Monica Rambeau, if the MCU version of Monica has shorter hair it might work. Sure they could do what they did with Hemsworth and Hiddleston and put a wig on her, but I don't know if I can picture her with long hair.

If Shuri was in this film, my top choice would be Danai Gurira from the Walking Dead. I have 15 actresses ahead of Lupita for Ms. Rambeau.

Regardless of who plays her I don't get why you think she'd be a one off character. She's his sister. She'd be a continuing supporting role like Pepper, Rhodey, etc. IMO.

I hope so.
